FERRON/OREM – Clara Bell Nelson Bradley, age 101, passed away April 11, 2007 in the Orem Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 1, 1906 in Ferron, being the eighth child of James and Mary Olsen Nelson and attended schools in Ferron and Huntington. Married James A. Ross April 15, 1939 in Provo, later divorced. Married Frank S. Bradley Aug. 24, 1948 in Vallejo, Calif., later divorced.
Clara enjoyed serving the public during her working career. When she was 18 she moved to Salt Lake City and worked in the Cullen Hotel and later served as the manager of the variety stand in the Newhouse Hotel. She owned and operated a cafe in Ferron and later in Price during the early 1940s. She lived in California from 1945 until 1963, when she returned to Utah and worked at Utah Valley Hospital until her retirement. She spent her retirement years living in Wellington, Dragerton, and St. George.
Although Clara had no children of her own, she was dearly loved by her extended family. The family will be forever grateful for the many years she spent doing family history research. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Clara is survived by a sister, Venedee Turnbull of Bountiful; sister-in-law, Nanola Nelson of Price; nine nieces and two nephews.
There will be a viewing Saturday, April 14, 2 to 2:30 p.m., at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale with graveside services at 3 p.m. at the Ferron City Cemetery.
