Shawn Olsen


PRICE – Shawn Lee Olsen, age 36, passed away May 22, 2007 in Price.
He was born Aug. 12, 1970 in Price to Rolland Eugene “Sonny” Olsen and Alice Henman. Married his soulmate, Jana Dees, March 7, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1988.
Shawn’s greatest joy in life was his children and he cherished every moment that he shared with them. He was kind, loving and he always displayed a genuine concern and love for others.
He loved riding his four-wheeler, camping, hunting and spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends.
Shawn was a friend to all. His smile and warm embrace will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Jana Olsen; five children, Sammy Olsen, Shawnee Olsen, Brayden Olsen, Mallory Olsen and Carlee Olsen; mother, Alice Olsen; brothers, Joe Olsen, Don Olsen, all of Price; and sister-in-law, Lisa Olsen, Wellington. Shawn was preceded in death father, Sonny Olsen; and brother, Rick Olsen.
Funeral service Saturday, May 26, 10 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.


June Axelgard


PRICE – Our loving mother and grandmother, June Okelberry Axelgard, passed away peacefully surrounded by her five children on May 21, 2007 in Payson.
June was born in Goshen to Roy and Valina (Rowe) Okelberry on June 25, 1918. She was the eldest of five children. She was raised in Goshen and attended in Payson High and Utah State University. June married Walter T. Axelgard in Goshen on June 23, 1947. She and Walter made their home in Price.
June grew up in the family sheep business, where she spent a lot of her time in the outdoors.
She developed a keen understanding and love for all of God’s creatures, especially horses. This, she passed on to her children and we are grateful for that.
She was a devoted mother who loved to cook and spend time working in her yard. She and Walt loved to travel and camp later in life with their dear friends.
June had very diverse interests and was at ease whether at the Governor’s Ball or herding sheep.
June is survived by five children, Mick (DeAnna) Axelgard of Price; Walter Jr. (LeAnna) of Price; Kevin (Bonnie) Axelgard of Price; and Julie (Ron) Jarvis of Santaquin; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Jean Brown; and brothers, Lee and Ray Okelberry. Preceded in death by husband of 57 years; parents; sister, Alta Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Jessica Axelgard; and great-granddaughter, Makala Felice.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Latter Day Assisted Living, Santaquin. To Bonnie Ballard for her loving care of our mother during her last days.
We would like to express our gratitude to our extended family for their extraordinary care, help and support fulfilling our mother’s needs.
Funeral services will begin at noon on Friday, May 25, at the Price 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 545 East 400 North. Friends may visit the family at the viewing on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in Price at Fausett Mortuary, 680 East 100 South and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
