Merrill H. Bryner
LOGAN – Merrill H. Bryner, 62 of Logan, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007, in Logan.
He was born on May 31, 1944 in Price to Hardison and May Woolly Bryner. He married Simone Larson and they are the parents of two children, William of Highpoint, N.C., and Teresa of Senegal, Africa.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University and a master’s degree from Brigham Young University.
He was employed at the DOD Dependent Schools as a science teacher for 36 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He had lived in Berlin, Germany; Kaiserslautern, Germany; and Logan. He was a member of the Reserve Officer Association, the National Educators Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
He is survived by his wife and two children; three brothers, Robert (Luzon) Bryner and Richard (Erica) Bryner both of Logan and Wayne (Susan) Bryner of Smithfield; and one sister, Charlene Davis of Logan. He was preceded in death by his father, Hardison Bryner, and his sister, Joyce Craven.
Military graveside services will be Wednesday, May 23, at 1 p.m. in the Logan City Cemetery under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.

Nora Llewelyn
SPRING GLEN/TAYLORSVILLE – Nora Elizabeth Mower Llewelyn, age 83, passed away peacefully May 17, 2007 at her son’s home in Taylorsville.
She was born Aug. 28, 1923 in Fairview to James and Florence Spens Mower. Married Wallace Isiah Llewelyn Oct. 13, 1938 in Burlington, Wyo. Marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Wallace passed away April 24, 1974.
Nora was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.
She was a longtime resident of Carbon County, where she worked as a waitress at Jeanselme’s Restaurant in Price for many years.
She was an avid reader and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survived by her four sons, Wallace (LaRue) Llewelyn, Sundra (Catherine) Llewelyn, George Llewelyn, and Rodger (Audree) Llewelyn; son-in-law, Mac Tidwell; brother, Lawrence (Betty) Mower; sisters, Naomi Trujillo and Belle Prince; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Joan Tidwell.
Funeral service Tuesday, May 22, 11 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
Julius Jones
HIAWATHA/GREEN RIVER, Wyo. – Julius Jones, 79, of Green River, Wyo., passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River, Wyo. Julius was born on Dec. 9, 1927 in Hiawatha, the son of Henry O. and Lillian Retford Jones. He married Velma Horvath on June 14, 1948 in Price and she preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 1994.
A longtime resident of Green River and a former resident of Salt Lake City. He had been in ill health for the last few years.
Julius attended school in Salt Lake City. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in World War II. He was employed by FMC for 20 years and retired as a safety manager in 1993. He was also a retired sub-district manager of the Federal Bureau of Mines and MSHA.
Julius was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as grand knight and district marshal.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His interests included camping, fishing and hunting.
Survivors included three sons, Lamar H. Jones and his wife, Rebecca; Dan J. Jones and his wife, Jane; and Timothy J. Jones and his wife, Suzanne, all of Green River, Wyo.; three daughters, Vicki L. Jones and her husband, Russ, of Auburn, Wash.; Judy K. Hoesch and her husband, Gary, of Salt Lake City; and Tracie E. Anson and her husband, Mike, of Green River, Wyo.; two brothers, Lamar H. Jones and his wife, Mabel, of Price; and Frank Jones of Idaho; one sister, Dorothy McMinimee of Colorado; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two brothers, Allen B. Jones and Robert J. Jones.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, May 22, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 900 Hitching Post Drive, Green River, Wyo. Memorial rosary was recited Monday, May 21, at the church, with Father Tom Sheridan officiating. Interment June 4 at 11 a.m. at Price City Cemetery.
Brenda Urick
DALLAS, Ga. – Brenda Joyce Adams Urick passed away May 9, 2007 after a hard battle with cancer at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Ga.
Brenda was born July 23, 1946 to Margarette and John D. Adams in Dragerton. She graduated from East Carbon High School.
Brenda loved animals and devoted her life to her horses, dogs and cats. She lived on a horse ranch in Dallas, Ga.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Urick of Dallas, Ga.; sons, Greg Clark, Michigan; Aaron and Michelle Clark, Dallas, Ga.; and Kenneth Clark, Dallas, Ga.; daughter, Roberta Smith, Atlanta, Ga; and seven grandchildren. Also survived by her mother, Margarette Adams, Roswell, N.M.; brother, Bob and Barbara Adams, Price; and sisters, Janet and Charles Hightower, Roswell, N.M.; and Gena and Bob Collins, St George. Her father preceded her in death.
Interment will be on the property she loved so much.
Arline Brown
KENILWORTH – Arline Margaret Houton Brown, age 91, passed away May 20, 2007, in the loving arms of the Heirloom Inn in Price.
She was born May 10, 1916 in Red Lodge, Mont., to Ray and Bertha Bloom Houton. Married Wilfred “Bill” Russell Brown Sept. 5, 1936 in Rod Lodge, Mont. Marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Bill preceded her in death Dec. 25, 2005.
Sister Brown was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was the organist of the Scofield LDS Branch for the past 31 years.
From her earliest days, she was always drawn to music. Whether it was playing the piano or organ, teaching lessons, playing the accordion or singing, she was inspiration to all. Her love of music helped lay the foundations for her faith, family, love and her life.For her years of dedication, she was honored with the lifetime service award in music.
Arline lived for others and her fondest memories were those that she shared with her wonderful family in Scofield.
Arline was known by many for her love of the color purple and, to many, she was fondly referred to and recognized as the “Purple Lady.”
She enjoyed bowling, taking pictures, crocheting, and she received many awards for her photography and crocheting.
Sister Brown will be always be remembered for warmth, big smiles and the musical memories that her little fingers shared with us.
Survived by her three sons, Ray (Patricia) Brown, Magna; Kenneth (Carol) Brown, South Jordan; Terry Brown, Price; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Margaret Jane Henrie; grandson, Terry LaVar Brown; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Brown; and a sister, Betty Stork.
Funeral service Friday, May 25, 10 a.m., Helper LDS Stake Center. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
Osie ‘Weezie’ Wilson
PRICE – Osie Louise “Weezie” Wilson, age 72, returned home to our Heavenly Father on May 17, 2007.
Weezie was born on Feb. 21, 1935 to Hurbert and Osie Kennard in Dallas, Texas. She married her teenage sweetheart, Benny Joe Wilson, on Feb. 27, 1954 in Carlsbad, N.M.
She and Benny traveled and lived in many places and made many friends, many of whom they have kept in touch with throughout the years.
Weezie had so much zest for life and lived it to the fullest, whether she was traveling somewhere for a bowling trip, a weekend square dance, playing cards, needle-point, trips to Mesquite, Wendover and Las Vegas, Nev., or simply spending time with her family, which was her favorite time of all.
Weezie raised a very active family and had very active grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very supportive and always tried to attend their activities.
She was our biggest fan. We will miss her deeply.
Survived by husband of 53 years, Benny; children, Hubert (Sharon) Wilson, Price; Benny (Tonya) Wilson, Grand Junction, Colo.; Diane (Rick) Law, Bedford, Ky.; Jerry Wayne Mooney, Bedford, Ky.; one sister, Genivieve (Bob) Kendall, Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mildred Mooney and JoAnn Crume.
Funeral services were Monday, May 21, at Fausett Mortuary, followed by interment in Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
Robert Davis
HONEYVILLE – Robert Merrill Davis, 69, our loving husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at home with his loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Robert was born Feb. 4, 1938 to Mable Gerber Davis and Owen Davis. He was raised in Wellington and spent many summers on his grandpa’s ranch. He grew up with and married his sweetheart, Loraine Grace Draper, Nov. 15, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. From this union came four wonderful sons and two beautiful daughters.
Dad’s greatest joy was his family and times spent together camping, hunting and family activities. He enjoyed working on his farm raising animals, planting a garden to share with family and friends.
He retired from Thiokol after 37 years of dedicated service.
Dad was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Honeyville 1st LDS Ward.
He is survived by his wife; children, Kurt, Kyle (Kathy), Scott, Boyd (Terri), Kaelyn (Shane) Robbins and Laci J.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by his mother, Wellington; brothers, Keith and Douglas; and sisters, Gayle Wallace , Cherilyn Piper and Valynne Spencer. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral service was Monday, May 21, at the Honeyville LDS Ward Chapel under the direction of Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home. Interment, Honeyville Cemetery.

PRICE – Axelgard, 88, died May 21, 2007 in Payson.
She was born June 25, 1918 in Goshen to John Roy and Valina Rowe Okelberry.
