Last week the local junior high junior varsity volleyball teams in the Castle Valley Association squared off in their end of season tournament at San Rafael Junior High.
With a double elimination format, Helper bowed out first, taking fifth place. Mont Harmon followed up with the fourth place finish. Canyonview took the next exit out holding on to third.
That left San Rafael and Pinnacle Academy to play for the championship.
PCA had already beaten San Rafael earlier. They only had to repeat the win to take the crown.
However, San Rafael stepped it up and beat PCA, forcing a third and final set between the two teams. In the end, San Rafael came out on top capturing the title.
PCA finished in the second spot. The finish was considered a great feat for a program that is only a couple of years old.
