Danielle is a Carbon County native where she attended the College of Eastern Utah to earn her registered nursing degree. She went on to attend Weber State University for her bachelor’s degree and then earned her master’s degree and women’s health nurse practitioner degree from the University of Utah. She returned to Carbon County to be closer to her family. She is married to Jason Pendergrass and together they raise their niece Mikka Pendergrass. “I love living in a community where people actually know one other and feel a responsibility to help each other out,” she says.
Danielle has a passion for women’s health and is employed at Dr. F. Rex Nielsen’s office and is the director and health care provider at the College of Eastern Utah’s Health and Wellness clinic.
She is also involved in several community projects such as the Women’s Conference and the now third annual “Wear Red For Women Day” that raises awareness for women and heart disease.
“We were one of the first communities in Utah to get this program started. It is just amazing how our community agencies, especially the health department who organizes the event every year, pull together to make an ordinary day extraordinary,” she says.
