Nancy Harvey
EAST CARBON/MOORE, Idaho – Nancy Louise Anderson Harvey, age 71, passed away Jan. 1, 2006 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was born June 1, 1934 in Lewistown, Mo., to Chester and Freda Campen Anderson. Married Jack Darwin Harvey Oct. 7, 1950 in Elko, Nev.; he died Dec. 5, 1995.
Nancy was a former resident of Columbia prior to moving to Moore, Idaho, where she enjoyed the beautiful outdoors.
She enjoyed making crafts of all sorts, fishing, hunting, gardening and caring for her beautiful lilacs.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by daughters, Cynthia (Frank) Harvey-Carrasco, Henderson, Nev.; Sandra (Ray) Hagewood, Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Mary (James) Fivecoat, Sunnyside; Marie Fivecoat, San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren, Mandy, Douglas Jack; five great-grandchildren, Brady, Carlie, Callie, Summett, Cyree; and loving nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Preceded in death by parents; son, Jack Harvey Jr.; and infant daughter, Heather.
Funeral service Saturday, Jan. 7, 1 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Darlene Clark
PRICE – Nellie Darlene Clark, 88, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Dec. 26, 2005 in Price to be reunited with her loving husband, Tain.
She was born March 30, 1917 in Hayden to Hyrum Lyionel and Princess Eugeni (Gardner) Spencer. She married Tain Theron Clark on Nov. 23, 1936 in Vernal, which was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
An active member of the LDS Church, she and her husband were temple workers at the Manti LDS Temple for many years.
Darlene was many things in her life, including a florist, a waitress, a cook and a homemaker. She was a verifiable “domestic engineer.” She loved to have company over and could whip up a meal for a crowd in no time. Missed will be the amazing apple pies, the bread, the chicken and noodles, all lovingly made from scratch.
Tain and her family were her life.
Darlene is survived by her children, Betti (Earl) Curtis of Salt Lake City; Alva “Smokey” Clark, Theron “Chub” (Vera) Clark and Jerry “Muggs” (Valynda) Clark, all of Wellington; Connie (Kent) Norton of Price; and Shirlee (Larry) Lopan of Boulder City, Nev. Also survived by 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her sweetheart, Tain; a daughter, Barbara Henderson; her parents; and her brothers and sisters, including her twin.
Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 30, 2005 at the Wellington LDS Stake Center. Interment followed in the Price City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Fermin Martinez
HELPER/KENNEWICK, Wash. – Fermin Steven Martinez returned to his Heavenly Father on Dec. 20, 2005 in Kennewich, Wash.
He was born April 30, 1947 in Standardville to Fermin and Joesphine Benavidez Martinez. Married Abbie Trujillo and had two children. They later divorced.
He was raised in Helper and graduated from Carbon High School. He served in the U.S. Army and completed a tour of duty in the Vietnam War in the military police.
Fermin worked for Steelco Company in Salt Lake City as a driver for several years.
He will be deeply missed by all of his family and many friends who cared for him dearly.
He is survived by daughter, Monica (Mike) Monroe; son, Mark Martinez, both of Salt Lake City; loving companion of 24 years, Pricilla Martinez; stepdaughters, Tammy (Tom) Gomez; Debbie (Paul) Arnold, Kennewick, Wash.; Sherry Gomez and stepson, Frank Gomez, Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bernell (Eva) Martinez, Helper; Adonario (Pearl) Martinez, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Jerry Martinez, Salt Lake City; and sister, Rosalie Arlene Martinez, Las Vegas, Nev. He is preceded in death by mother and father; brothers, Fermincito Martinez and Efren Martinez; sister, Estella Duran Gomez; and nieces, Sandy and Vickie.
There will be no services, as per his wishes.
Deone Bishop
PRICE/PROVO – Deone Oviatt Bishop, age 70, pased away peacefully Jan. 3, 2006 after a long illness.
She was born June 29, 1935 in Elmo, the daughter of Bert Venoy and Eliza Martha Jensen Oviatt, the youngest of five sisters. She married Bob D. Bishop Dec. 8, 1952 in Cleveland, later divorced.
Deone was an active member of the LDS Church and, even up to her last days, continued to read and study about the gospel.
She worked as an accountant/bookkeeper in many of the banks in the Price area and also at Plateau Mining. Her co-workers thought very highly of her and her ability to work quickly and efficiently in all that she was asked to do.
As in her working surroundings, her family held great respect for her and her modesty.
Deone struggled through many of life’s trials, but never gave up and instilled that into her children and others around her.
Deone’s door was always open to anyone and she always wanted to help others.
Mom was always there no matter what time of day or what you needed, whether it was just a good friend to talk to, help balance a checkbook, a warm meal and a roof over your head or just her keen sense of humor and it will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Greg (Stacey) Bishop of Price; Nanette of Payson; Jeff (Rosetta) Bishop of Price; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by three sisters, Edith Stagg, Floye Bennion, both of Vernal; and Wilma Baker of Orem. Preceded in death by parents; and sister, LaRue White.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 1 p.m., at Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 South, Price. Friends and family may call Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to services at Fausett Mortuary. Interment, Elmo Cemetery.
