Once again the Carbon High basketball teams have placed a number of players on all region squads and a few on the state roster for the best players in the 3A ranks.
Coach Ted Bianco was pleased to see that five of his 2005-06 boys squad was named to the region all-star team. Those players included Chase Julian, Skyler Namanny, Bryan Gazell, Jordan Monyier, and Parker Parsons.
Julian, who was considered one of the best guards in the 3A ranks by many this past season, was also named to the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune’s All-State second team. He was was also selected to play in the All-Star game in Salt Lake.

The girls squad, while not winning a championship this year, still had a great team.Coach Bruce Bean had several players honored this year.
Jamie King and Meesha Rasmussen were named to the Deseret News All-State second team. King was also named to the Salt Lake Tribune’s All State second team.
Tabby Cummins was given honerable mention and was selected to play in the State All-Star game.
Both squads participated in the state tournament this year.
The boys team did well in region play, but then had to go to Morgan to a play-in game where they lost to the Trojans.
The girls team did much better and made it to the state tournament at the Dee Events Center in Ogden. The team lost in the first round to Canyon View, but came back in the losers bracket to beat Snow Canyon and then Logan for the consolation championship (fifth place).
Of all the players listed on region or state squads, Moynier will be the only player returning next year as a senior. All the others honored are graduating seniors this year.
