The top four major league teams in the WBBA tournament, Helper, Carbon Blue, Green River and Carbon Grey are headed to double elimination to determine the two regional entrants into the WBBA “Little World Series.”
Double elimination is scheduled to begin on Saturday for all teams.
Carbon Blue is to take on Green River at 6 p.m. in Green River on Saturday, while Helper takes on Carbon Grey at the same time in Helper.
This is sure to be a great showdown for any baseball fan.
The Helper team is currently leading in the final round standings, undefeated at 5-0.
Right behind them is the Carbon Blue team who has only lost one game during the tournament. Carbon Blue is currently 4-1 in standings.
Green River is 3-2 and Carbon Grey follows behind them with 2-3.
Already eliminated from the tournament is Wellington, 1-4, and Sunnyside, 0-5. Both teams played extremely hard during the tournament but couldn’t beat the other determined teams.
The winners of each game on Saturday will represent Carbon in the “Little World Series” in August.
In the minor league, Carbon Blue and Helper played for first and second place in the region, while Wellington faced off against Carbon Grey for third and fourth places on Wednesday.
Carbon Blue managed a 19-4 win against Helper, taking first place and leaving Helper with second.
Carbon Blue now advances to the state 10 and under tournament on Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake City.
The other Carbon team also added another win to their standings. Carbon Grey beat Wellington by four runs, ending the game on Wednesday with a 14-10 win.
