The Helper American Legion team added two more wins to their record after a 10-1 win against bountiful on July 29 and a forfeit by Highland the next day.
Bountiful had the home advantage on July 29, but it just wasn’t enough going up against Helper.
Bountiful had an almost pitiful game only having four hits and only completing one run.
Helper on the other hand had no problem demolishing the competition.
The great team work and awesome talent of Helper made it simple to complete 10 runs and have 15 hits.
Morgan Bates pitched a great game for Helper, only giving up four hits. He also had a double for the team.
Chandler Pearson made two triples during the game, while Tyler Nelson and Joe Via had one each.
Caleb Greenwood also helped Helper out by scoring a double.
Mike Smith along with Pearson and Via, all had multiple hits.
After this landslide win, Helper should have felt great for the Highland game scheduled for the next day, but Highland forfeited an hour before game time due to not having enough players. This still goes down for a win for Helper even though no game was actually played.
After the last two games, Helper is still undefeated in the league. They are currently 7-0 among league standings and 13-4 overall.
July 8 should be a very busy day for Helper, who plays against both Murray and Olympus. They are scheduled to play at Murray at 5:30 p.m. and at Olympus at 8 p.m.
They play again the next day on July 9 in Tooele.
July 9 is also the day of the all-star game scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Ken Price Field. This is sure to be a great game for anyone in attendance.
