A Helper Junior High volleyball player bumps the ball during a home game last Thursday afternoon. The Rams hosted Pinnacle Canyon Academy. Both teams are young and are still learning. According to Helper Junior High principal, Tom Montoya, the Rams team didn’t even have a coach until three days before school started. Most of the team members are seventh grade students, but Montoya explained that they have continued to improve and always have fun. The Rams lost Thursdays match up to Pinnacle Canyon two sets to one.
The Mont Harmon Pirates football team hosted Canyon View September 28 and defeated the Cougars by the final score, 56-6. By winning this game, the Pirates clinched their division.
According to Mont Harmon head coach, Tim Tiller, the Pirate team captured the division championship by working hard as a team.
The hard work paid off last week as the Pirates easily defeated Canyon View. The team now looks ahead to their final two games of the season. The first of which will be played on the Carbon High School field October 4 at 7 p.m. as they play the Helper Rams.
The Pirates enter their final two games with an 8-0 record.
