Cross country team comes home

Katie Hobbs nears the finish line at the Carbon High meet last week. Hobbs missed placing in the top 10 but finished in 12th place.

The Carbon High cross-country team hosted it’s annual invitational meet on September 28. Teams who traveled and participated in the meet included Pleasant Grove, Juan Diego, Delta, Emery, Duchesne and Green River.
The Carbon Dinos had a successful meet as the boys placed third and the girls finished in fourth place.
In the boys division, Paul Goodrich finished in second place out of 66 contestants. Kent Olson finished the meet in 15th place while Beau Morley captured 20th place and Sam Madrid finished in 23rd place.
Rounding out the line up for Carbon, Jared Richens placed 39th, Brett Wells finished in 40th place and David Youso came in 43rd place.
In the girls division, Paige Morley lead the Dinos with an 8th place finish. By finishing in the top 10, Morley captured the only medal for Carbon during the race.
Katie Hobbs placed 12th, missing the medals by only two places.
Rebecca Goodrich improved both her time and place from her first meet last week explained coach Stewart Foster. Goodrich finished in 20th place at Carbon High’s meet.
Katie Palmer placed 28th and Ashley Anderson finished in 32nd place.
The next meet on Carbon’s schedule will take place October 6 at Duchesne High.
