In looking towards the general elections on November 8th, the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors would like to invite voters to participate in a “Meet the Candidates” night scheduled for Oct. 27 at Creekview Elementary School located at 590 West 500 South (across from the Price City domes). The meeting will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
All candidates vying for mayor and city council within the county will be invited to participate. Each city will be in a separate room for a question-and-answer type program.
A moderator will ask the candidates to answer the same questions in random order, thereby giving no candidate a “first or last” advantage. Ground rules and time limits will be followed so that every candidate will have ample time and opportunity to respond.
At the end of the program, if time allows, candidates may entertain questions from the audience.
The chambers goal is to introduce the candidates to the citizenry and what their platform and ideas are so that voters can make an educated decision. There are no other elections where local citizens’ votes count more or where they can be more involved than in city and county appointments.
