Karen Jobe Templeton stands by a sculpture that she created of Senator Bob Bennett (right) when it was unveiled during the Utah Rural Business Conference in Price last spring. Recently the American Artists Professional League, a national organization dedicated to recognizing, encouraging and promoting traditional, representational art, announced its 77th Grand National Exhibition Award Winners and Templeton’s sculpture was included. Each year, the organization hosts its Grand National Exhibition, a show that highlights major and emerging professional artists in all media. Entries are accepted from all 50 states and judged by a selection committee consisting of professional artists in the fields of oil, watercolor, pastel and graphics, and sculpture. Templeton was selected to receive the Leonard J. Meiselman Memorial Award for Traditional Sculpture for her sculpture which was entitled “Portrait: Senator Robert F. Bennett.” American Artists Professional League’s 77th Grand National Exhibition highlighted the achievements of over 170 artists. The paintings and sculptures were on display through Nov. 11.
