Darrell Stewart
PRICE – Darrell Earl Stewart, age 48, passed away Jan. 21, 2005 at his home in Spring Glen, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with MS and leukemia.
He was born Oct. 26, 1956 in Payson to Ronald and Ruth Hiatt Stewart. He married Salley Ann Olson March 18, 1976 in Santaquin, later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.
He loved life and being with his family. He enjoyed playing, coaching and watching sports, basketball being his favorite. He coached for 11 years at Carbon High School but the job he loved the most was coaching his own children.
He is survived by loving wife, Salley of Spring Glen; children and their spouses, Kellie and Brian Thomas of Tooele; Kara and David Zwahlen of St. George; Tiffany and James Swasey of Price; Cassie and Michael Gledhill of Vernal; Elder Bryan Darrell Stewart, currently serving the Chile-Santiago North Mission; Amie and Allie Stewart, both of Spring Glen; and eight grandchildren. Also survived by parents of Payson; two brothers, Douglas Stewart of Payson and Gary Stewart of Orem; and two sisters, Rhonda Aragon of Syracuse and Melanie Orton, also of Payson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1 p.m., in the Helper LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
William Callaway
HELPER – William Stewart Callaway (Bill), age 69, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a long, valiant battle with heart disease and diabetes. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born Dec. 25, 1935 in Diamondville, Wyo., to William and McGretha Callaway. He later married Margaret Norrine Hartnett in Salt Lake City Sept. 10, 1955.
He loved to be outdoors fishing, camping, waterskiing, riding motorcycles and dune buggies, always surrounded by his large, loving family. Trips with him were always an adventure because something would break down every time, but everyone was always eager to enlist one another because that was part of the fun. Nobody could tell a story quite like him and he was so much fun to be around because wherever he went laughter inevitably followed. Bill did more living during his time here than most people ever will. He will be very sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by wife, Norrine; four children, Stewart Callaway, Crysanne Hall, Cynthia (Lee) Daylee, Angela (Travis) Hartley; 14 grandchildren, Billy, Jimmy, Kimberly, Kaeci and Steven Callaway, Kaitlyn, Ryan and Grayson Hall, Tara Megan and Matthew Dayley, Kiernen, Tristen and Autumn Hartley; great-grandson, Shea Callaway; and sister, Marjorie Lord. Preceded in death by parents, William and McGretha Callaway; sisters, Ava Thomas and Wilma George; brother, James Callaway; and nephew, Steven Green.
The family will be at Mitchell’s Funeral Home for the viewing for one hour prior to service.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m. at Wellington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to the William Callaway Memorial Fund to Eastern Utah Community Credit Union, 675 E. 100 North in Price to help with medical expenses.
Irma Marquez
PRICE/DELTA – Irma Marquez passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at Willow Tree Care Center. She was 47 years of age.
Irma was born in Elvalle, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 10, 1957.
She spent her childhood in Mexico and graduated from high school there. She continued her education for the next three years in the nursing field. Irma had been a resident of Utah for 20 years and had resided in Delta for the past five years.
Irma, who had been a cook in the restaurant industry, attended the Spanish Assembly El Buen Pastor Church in Delta. She enjoyed her coffee and loved to cook. The greatest love of her life was her family, grandchildren and her many special friends.
Those grateful to have shared in Irma’s life include a son, Carlos Marquez of Delta; two daughters, Adriana Kutkas of Price; Monique Marquez of Delta, Colo.; two brothers, Bernabe of Idaho; and Manuel of New Mexico; sister, Gracila of Mexico; and her special grandchildren, Anthony, Jasmine and Destiny. She is further survived by very special friend and caregiver, Celso Bencomo; along with his two boys, Marcos and Nickolas Bencomo, all of Delta. Irma was preceded in death by parents.
Visitation was Monday, Jan. 24 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta under the direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
