Piano teachers festival held at CEU

The Emery County Piano Teachers Association recently held its annual Piano Festival at the College of Eastern Utah. Piano students from Carbon and Emery counties participated and were critiqued in the following areas: Performance, theory, ear training, sight-reading, and technique.
A morning and afternoon session was held and a winner and two runners-up were chosen in each grade level for their outstanding performance.
Those selected in the morning session in the K-3 grade division were: Amber Trowbridge, winner; Madelynn Carter and Levi Jensen, runners-up.
In the 4th through 6th grade division a tie for winners was given to Courtney Tuttle and Logan Tuttle with Markette Tanner runner-up.
Winner in the 7th through 9th grade division was Derek Tuttle with Angela Rowley and Jessica Larsen runners-up.
In the 10th through 12th grade division the winner was David Goodrich with Seth Bott and Leslie Fuller as runners-up.
For excellence in technique, awards were given to Drexler Tanner, Connie Whittle and David Goodrich during the morning session.
The afternoon session winner in the kindergarten through 3rd grade division was Elsie Debry with Katelyn Johnson and Kaitlynn Tomas runners-up.
In the 4th through 6th grade division Kelsie Cox was the winner and T J Lacock and Spencer Fauver as runners-up.
The 7th through 9th grade division winner was Alex Johnson with Mary Blackburn and Megan Singleton as runners-up.
In the 10th through 12th grade division the winner was Brandon Singleton with Bethany Toomer and Leslie Urie the runners-up.
For excellence in technique in the afternoon session awards were given to Brittany Fauver, Lacey Montgomery, and Shalae Cox.
