Robbie Mitchell

Robbie Mitchell, a senior student at Carbon High School is the 2004 USRA ATV Intermediate Class Motocross Champion.
Mitchell was honored at the Delta Center on Jan. 8 for his accomplishment. The USRA conducts a motocross series in Utah and Nevada that attracts riders from Utah, Wyoming, Arizona and Nevada.
This past year was Mitchells first full year of racing. Prior to 2004 he raced in a few motocross events as a junior class rider.
Overall last year Mitchell won over 70 percent of his races and placed first or second 90 percent of the time. He says that this past season was better than he would have ever dreamed possible.
On Dec. 5 Mitchell marked a milestone for the year. That day he moved up to the pro class and competed in the ITP Quadcross event at the Glen Helen Raceway in California. In the field competing against him were some of the best professional ATV riders in the country including such names as Kory Ellis, Keith Little, Jeremy Schell, Dave Lindsey, Cody Smith, and Darrell Patton.
Mitchell was able to finish 11th out of 18 riders in that race.
Because of that outing Mitchell had competed in three different classes in one year (junior, amateur and pro) and was successful in all of them.
