Western Boys regional tournament begins July 17

A hit makes it through the Sunnyside infield. Sunnyside completed the all-star season Tuesday against Helper.

The pairings are set for the regional Western Boys Baseball Association (WBBA) meet, scheduled to begin in Helper July 17.
The tournament follows a series of round robin games between teams from Carbon and Emery Counties.
The major and minor league teams representing Price National, Northern Heights, Green River and Helper have qualified for the regional double elimination tournament.
Northern Heights’ minor league team enters the tournament as the number one seed, while Price National leads the major league division.
The tournament will close the minor league season while the regional champion for the major league teams will advance to the little world series of WBBA in Rigby, Idaho the first week of August.
Tuesday’s results
Major League: Helper 11, Sunnyside 1; Green River 19, Wellington 1; Northern Heights 18, Price National 9.
Minor League: Helper 22, Sunnyside 1; Green River 18, Wellington 17; Northern Heights 7, Price National 6.
