Ruth Williams
EAST CARBON – Ruth L. Blackburn Perkins Williams, age 93, passed away at her home on July 25, 2004.
Born June 27, 1911 in Price to Albert and Lilley Bass Grames. She married E. Boyd Blackburn in Wellington. He died May of 1938. Married Howard E. Perkins, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Feb. 14, 1951. Howard passed away Oct. 1, 1960. Later married Robert P. Williams on July 10, 1971 in East Carbon. Robert passed away Oct. 25, 1989.
Ruth was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities. She was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening. Ruth loved making crafts, knitting, crocheting and will be dearly missed by family and many friends. Ruth’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Community Nursing Services, especially Debbie, Shirley and Kristina.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons, Donna (Ray) Mantle, Salt Lake City; Van L. (Kathy) Perkins, Santa Fe, N.M.; C.J. (Sharon) Blackburn, West Jordan; Darlene Harrison, Ogden, Kans.; Pat (Gordon) Chidester, Kearns; Jack (Clorice) Williams, West Valley; Charlotte Fleenor, Magna; two sisters, Mabel (Ward) Garlick, Corona, Calif.; Florence (Alex) Simmons, Price; 44 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by children, H. Max Perkins, Paul D. Perkins, Carol Perkins, Lela Rae Nackos, and Rex Perkins; and five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral service Thursday, July 29, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.

Tain Clark
PRICE – Tain Theron Clark, 89, loving spouse, father and grandfather, passed away July 24, 2004 in Price.
Born July 23, 1915 in Altonah, to Alvah and Nora Mecham Clark. Married Nellie Darlene Spencer Nov. 23, 1936 in Vernal and later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple.
A member of the LDS Church, Tain and Darlene were temple workers at the Manti LDS Temple for many years. A farmer at heart, he enjoyed anything to do with horses and cows.
Survived by wife, Darlene; children, Betty and Earl Curtis, Salt Lake City; Alva “Smokey” Clark, Theron “Chub” and Vera Clark, and Jerry “Muggs” and Valynda Clark, all of Wellington; Connie and Kent Norton, Price; Shirley and Larry Lopan, Boulder City, Nev.; 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by three sisters, Mae Bell, Sandy; Lamar Richins, Colo.; Faye Ross, Nevada; and three brothers, Dave Clark, Vernal; Ray Clark, Henderson, Nev.; and Clarence Clark, Nevada. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Barbara; and Clarence Clark, Nevada.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 28, 11 a.m., at the Wellington LDS Stake Center. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary in Price, and at the LDS Stake Center one hour prior to services. Burial, Price Cemetery.
James Procarione
PRICE/GREEN RIVER, Wyo. – James A. Procarione, 50, of Green River, Wyo. died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Memorial Hospital.
James was born Jan. 21, 1954 in Price, the son of James L. and Betty Lou Doleatti Procarione.
He attended schools in Price, and graduated from Carbon High School with the Class of 1972. He attended University of Utah where he received a PhD. in mining engineering.
He had been employed by FMC and most recently by the BLM. He was a member of the Catholic Church. His interests included fishing, computers, geology, hiking and the outdoors.
Survivors include his parents James and Betty Procarione of Price; one brother, John D. Procarione of Spring Glen; two sisters, Norma Rae Procarione and Barbara Ann Procarione, both of Price; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was preceded in death by grandparents.
Memorial services were Monday, July 26 at Fox Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs, Wyo. Internment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price, 10 a.m.
Blasia Olson
HELPER – Blasia Duyacoff Olson, beloved wife of Irvin Olson, died July 23, 2004 in Price at the age of 89.
Blasia was born May 27, 1915 in Cambria, Wyo., the first daughter of Yordan and Catherine Zurick Duyacoff. She came to work in Helper, where she met and fell in love with Irvin Olson. They were married on Valentine’s Day 1941 and began a marriage of complete and total devotion to each other that lasted until Irvin’s death in 2001.
Caring for her family was the focus of Blasia’s life. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Blasia spent her early years in Wyoming and Minnesota and graduated from Hot Springs County High School in Thermopolis, Wyo., Class of 1934.
Blasia and Irvin led a quiet life in their pleasant home across the street from the Helper city park. Irvin worked on the railroad and Blasia kept their home. Those who came to visit always came to the back door because they knew it was closest to the kitchen, where all were offered something to eat and drink and cheerful conversation. They raised their children and enjoyed their extended families, Blasia making sure that each child had their own special knitted afghan and other handiwork. It was rare to see Blasia without her husband at her side. They liked to play cards with their friends and to go gambling in Nevada. When her husband of 60 years passed away, the light of her life went out. Blasia was in ill health for the last few years, and her family would like to thank the staff at Castle Country Care Center for their affection and care for her.
Survived by sons, Irvin Ray (Betty) Olson, Mesquite, Nev.; Gordon Lee (Kandice) Olson, Price; daughter, Susan (Roy) Jackson, Rock Springs, Wyo.; brother, Bob (Francis) Smith, Rock Springs, Wyo.; grandchildren, Shirley (Ernie) Lowseth, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Michael Olson, Logan; Richard Olson, Seattle, Wash.; Todd Jackson, Naples, Fla.; Bryan Jackson, Rock Springs, Wyo.; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Stephanie Lowseth; and many loving nieces and nephews. Blasia was preceded in death by parents; husband, Irvin; sister, Helen Stoffa; and brother, Florian Duyacoff.
Funeral Mass Tuesday, July 27, 10 a.m., St. Anthony Catholic Church. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home for a visitation Tuesday from 9 to 9:40 a.m. Committal service, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
Hilda Yoklavich
HELPER – Hilda Kraync Yoklavich, age 90, passed away July 25, 2004 in Price while surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 9, 1913 in Scofield, to Frank Kraync Sr., and Amalja Hodej. Married Anthony “Tony” John Yoklavich June 12, 1942 in Ely, Nev. He died June 11, 1955.
Lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1931. Member SNPJ Lodge 689 for 67 years. Member of the American Fraternal Union. Hilda retired from Carbon School lunch program in 1983 with 27 years of service. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by daughter, Amelia Ann “Cookie” (Steve) Davis, Evergreen, Colo.; son, John (Kathy) Yoklavich, Helper; sister, Amalin “Molly” Stewart, El Cerrito, Calif.; five grandchildren, Steven Davis, Scott Weber, Justin Weber, Tony Yoklavich, Joey Yoklavich, seven great-grandchildren, Jorden, Kaitlen and Jillyen Yoklavich; Alexander, Celeste and Gisille Weber; Tyler Yoklavich; and many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by infant son, Anthony John; daughter, Mary Kathleen “Shorty” Weber; son-in-law, Jerry Weber; granddaughter, Camille Ann Yoklavich; grandson, Michael John Davis; great-grandson, Alex Yoklavich; brothers, Frank Kraync Jr., and Vennie “Slok” Kraync.

Joyce Simmons Coben
WELLINGTON/EL CAJON, Calif. – Joyce Simmons Coben, 74, of El Cajon, Calif, died Sunday, June 20, 2004.
She was born Sept. 5, 1929 in Kenilworth. She married Chuck Coben in September 1947. Chuck died in 1988.
The Simmons family moved to Wellington when she was five years old. Joyce moved to San Diego in July 1942.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Muzio of Santee, Calif.; sons, Randy Coben of Odenton, Md.; William Coben of Waldron, Ark. (stationed in Iraq); sister, Jeanne Beatty of San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; five brothers, Stan, Wayne, Lavel, Elwin, and Scott; and three sisters, Reva, Mildred and Wanda.
Services were in San Diego, Calif. A scattering of ashes at sea was planned.
