Community members and volunteers gathered last Saturday for Perkie Travel’s bake and yard sale to raise funds and awareness of the many services offered through the organization. Troy Dennis and Debbie Ariotti are pictured assisting with the day’s activities. Perkie Travels began operation 10 years ago to provide daily rides to cancer patients receiving radiation treatments at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center (UVRMQ in Provo). The program was started in response to the great need for Carbon and Emery residents to have access to daily transportation for the six to seven weeks of radiation needed for cancer treatments.
