Carbon High golf Coach Tony Pinedo took his team to the state 3-A tournament on October 6, and while they didn’t make the first days cut, they still did well.
Carbon placed 12th in the state with a total score of 343.
The top golfer at the meet for Carbon was Shayne Burke who shot an 82.
Others that added to the score were Hunter King with an 85, Cameron Oliver and Mike Zaccaria with 88’s, Mark Rasmussen with a 90 and Kent Hartley with a 92.
The 3-A championship was won by Park City which had to defeat Ogden in a sudden death playoff to take first place. Delta, from Region 8 took sixth place overall, but Jordan Fowles from the school won the individual first place championship.
Pinedo said the team worked hard this year and gave their all to be the best golfers they could.
