Helen Rasmussen


HUNTINGTON – Our beloved Helen J. Rasmussen, 82, passed away March 23, 2004 in Ferron.
She was born Sept. 2, 1921 in Hiawatha to Rulon Aurelius and Pearl Ferneth Ungerman Hardee. She married Bruce William Lott Feb. 9, 1937 in Castle Dale and later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in May, 1958. He died Jan. 10, 1980 and she then married Arthur Ras-mussen Aug. 23, 1984. He passed away in May 1998.
Helen enjoyed to read, travel, sew and quilt, embroidery, gardening and canning. She also worked for the Red Cross, civil defense, Huntington library, Castle Valley Credit Union, electronics and teachers aid.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, including a mission in the Washington D.C. LDS Tem-ple and the Manti LDS Temple.
She is survived by children, Don (Helane) Lott of Kearns; Fern (Derald) Oliver of Castle Dale; Ramona (Kim) Sherman of Salt Lake; Dennis (Pauline) Lott of Escalante; and Billie Jean (David) Raisanen of Greshem, Ore.; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by sister, Donna (Len) Anderson; and brother, LaVoy (Marilyn) Hardee. She was preceded in death by parents; spouses; son, Rulon Ray; brothers, Kenneth and Jack; sister, Roylance; granddaughter, Sharon Oliver; and great-grandsons, Christopher A. Cooper and Austin W. Grevstad.
Friends may call for a visitation at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale on Saturday, March 27, from 10 to 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Huntington Cemetery.


Desiree Harwood


SPRING GLEN – Desiree Lee Guymon Harwood, age 37, joined her brother, Darby, to abide with her Heavenly Father on March 24, 2004.
She was born Oct. 9, 1966 in Salt Lake City.
She is survived by her husband, Brett; daughter, Tamarisk; and son, Devin, all of Spring Glen; parents, Darwin and Diana Guymon; brother, Dan; and sister, Dori Linnell.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at the Helper LDS Stake Center, where friends may call one hour prior to services. At her request, cremation will follow.


Rachel Laws


PRICE – Rachel Mary Salazar Laws, age 48, passed away March 21, 2004 at her home.
She was born Oct. 27, 1955 in Kenilworth, to Antonio “Joe” Salazar and Rachel Vigil.
Rachel enjoyed collecting antiques and working on her arts and crafts. She loved the outdoors, animals and especially her cat, Patches.
She will be dearly missed by family and many dear friends.
Survived by son, Kent C. Mills, Price; daughter, Mary Jo Laws, Price; granddaughters, MiKell and Hailey Mills, Price; father, Antonio J. Salazar, Wellington; sister, Lori Mutz, Durango, Colo.; brothers, James Salazar, Grand Junction, Colo.; Joseph Salazar, Ogden; and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. Preceded in death by mother, Rachel; brother, Claude Salazar; and sister, Helen Salazar.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 26, 10 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Vigil service, Thursday evening, 6 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday and Friday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.


David Anderson


MORONI – David Garth “Skiis” Anderson, 47 of Moroni, passed away March 22, 2004.
He was born Nov. 23, 1956 in Salt Lake to Ephraim Garth and Aleda Okander Anderson. He married Gayleen Jensen on July 20, 1996 in Moroni.
He was a coal miner, mechanic, electrician, and a certified welder since he was 16.
Grandchildren enjoyed spending time with him. He was very likeable, extremely kind to everyone and loved by many. He will be deeply missed.
Survived by wife, Gayleen Anderson of Moroni; children, Kent (Kristy) Anderson of Payson; Vic Anderson of Oklahoma; Tim Anderson of Moroni; Wenzel (Mindy) Brewer of Manti; Samantha Brewer of Fairview; Amanda (Chris) Holm of Moroni; mother, Aleda Anderson; eight grandchildren; siblings, Linda, Annette, Susan, Kenny and Tiny. Preceded in death by father; and granddaughter, CheyAnne Brewer.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 26, 11 a.m., in the Moroni LDS Stake Center. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Moroni City Cemetery.


Donald Hansen


PRICE – Donald Stuart Hansen passed away March 19, 2004.
He was born Nov. 8, 1946.
Our beloved friend has passed on. He will be remembered at New Heights Clubhouse where he fellowshipped members and staff alike with his humor and caring for others.
