The Carbon High School drama team returned from region eight competition after a successful experience.
Carbon High School took top honors in the one-act play category with the judges awarding the drama team with the best play honor at the competition.
The Carbon High students performed “The Last Train,” a play dealing with the holocaust and World War II.
Special recognition went to Lyndsay Durrant as the best supporting actress and J.B. Arriola for the best supporting actor.
“The plays were much stronger than last year,” commented director Rodney Scott.
In the individual events category, Carbon placed a full slate for state, but the high school was unable to overcome stiff competition from Lehi, pointed out Scott.
Nevertheless, the Carbon High School drama team members still managed to capture second place overall at the competition.

Mandy Taylor, Bryan Johnson and Cortney Lui in contemporary scenes.
Stacia Kunz, Rikelle Deaton and Nick Teny in pantomime.
