The 13th hole of the Carbon Country Club golf course is the shortest par three and is the most likely hole for players to capture their first hole-in-one.
Only 120 yards from the blue tees, the slightly elevated 13th hole is at the furthest end of the back nine. After hole 13, hole 14 will wrap players back around in the direction of the clubhouse.
Three bunkers on the front, the left and the far right guard the 13th green.
Players should shoot for the middle of the green, which is fairly deep and forgiving.
Making correct club selection is key to success on the par three.
Leaving the tee shot short is a common mistake, as players often do not use enough club on the small hole. The slight elevation of the green can also cause players to misjudge their club.
Landing in the front bunker can lead to a very difficult second shot. Players are better off to aim slightly long rather than short.
However, golfers should be aware of the bunker on the far right if shooting long.
In the event that a hole-in-one is made, either a member of the golfing party or someone nearby who saw the shot needs to serve as a witness.
