Carbon County resident Boyd Bell was named to the Utah Sports Officials Hall of Fame for the class of 2004. Bell was one of 18 officials to be recognized. Only 66 officials have been accorded the recognition since the category was begun in 1995.
According to the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation, “He has distinguished himself in a profession that affords few personal rewards.”
It continued,”Furthering sportsmanship and enhancing the lives of young men and women through athletics were his goals. The rules he enforced on playing fields provided a roadmap for athletes to follow on life’s fields.”
