The team was led by Paul Goodrich in first place, David Goodrich in second and Jacob Perez in third and captured team honors.
Ted Prettyman placed 16th, followed by Zack Burdick in 17th place. The first five finishers on each team count for the team score.
“Our boys have been close from our fourth place to our seventh place boys,” Coach Stewart Foster commented. “Ken Olsen from Mont Harmon has been in this group, as well as Layne Prince, Tyler Munns and Beau Morley.”
Paige Morley was the top female finisher for the girls side, placing eighth. Brittany Horrocks took 11th, Katie Hobbs placed 14th, Jana Burrows came in 18th and Ashley Anderson took 20th.
The girls placed third as a team.
On Sept. 24, Carbon attended a Spanish Fork invitational meet. Paul Goodrich placed second in the boys junior varsity race with a time of 16:58. Perez came in seventh and David Goodrich took ninth.
“We had a good performance from Ken Olsen, Teddy Prettyman and Zack Burdick,” indicated Foster. “Kerry Powell had a personal best time by about two minutes, which is quite a good run.”
The girls were led by Mikaleen Loveless, Horrocks and Hobbs. All three girls had personal best times for the year.
Carbon will run in the Emery meet in Ferron on Sept. 28.
