Katherine Langdon


PRICE/EAST CARBON – Katherine Lucille Langdon, “The First” of East Carbon (this is how she loved to sign her name), passed away Sept. 24, 2004 in Price.
She was born July 26, 1987 in Rifle, Colo. to Jon and Debra Westbrook Langdon.
She loved everyone with all her heart and she would like us to do the same. Katherine loved spending time with her many friends and was an avid BMX bike rider. (She loved the adrenaline rush it gave her). She also loved her music and loved it loud. She had a special place in her heart for her nephew Brayden.
Katherine is survived by parents, Jon of Fortuna, Calif.; Debra of Sunnyside; sister, Anna (Patrick) Montoya, West Jordan; brother, Russell Neas, Salt Lake City; grandparents, Jack and Lucille Langdon of California; nephews, Braydon and Justice; and her many friends whose hearts she touched. She is also survived by her second family, Ron, Jenny, Alyissa and Bethany. Preceded in death by grandparents, John and Palestean Westbrook.
Kat, you are our sunshine.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 28, 11:30 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price where friends may call one hour prior.


Jeanne Stock


EAST CARBON – Jeanne Stock, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away September 25, 2004 after suffering from pancreatic cancer.
She was born Oct. 21, 1936 in Murray, to Vern and Millicent Tester. Married M.L. “Joe” Stock Dec. 27, 1953.
Survived by husband; children, Joe (Robin), Dale (Grace), Lee and Thomas (Jessica); 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara and Judy; brothers, Lyle, Neil, Dick and Marv. Preceded in death by parents; and sons, David and John.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m. at Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour before services. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Sunnyside Union Hall.


Bertha Cotten


PRICE/TOOELE -Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Bertha Rigney Cotten, age 95, quietly returned to her Heavenly Father Sept. 22, 2004 at the Heirloom Inn in Price.
She was born in Wewoka, Okla. on May 6, 1909 to Lige and Georgia Ann Woo Rigney. Married Monroe B. Cotten Feb. 2, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas. He passed away Aug. 13, 1986. They have to daughters, Lois (Ray) Telarole, Helper; and Jo Ann (Bill) Griffith, Wash.
Longtime resident of Tooele where she was a member of the Lady Elks, Lions Club, and a volunteer pink lady. She cherished her membership in Tooele Baptist Church and Holladay Baptist Church and the wonderful friendships she made. She had a great capacity for love and expressed it in many ways throughout her life.
She loved her family and was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the wonderful residents and staff of the Heirloom Inn and all her care givers for the excellent and loving care she received.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, son, sister, brother, and many other family members.
Funeral service was Monday, Sept. 27 at the Cotton Chapel of the Tooele Baptist Church. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her favorite charity Cal Farleys Boys and Girls Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79105-9985.


Ronald Somers


PRICE – Ronald G. Somers, went home to be with his Lord on Sept. 20, 2004.
He was born in Price on March 3, 1932.
After graduating high school in Price. Mr. Somers served our country in the Navy during the Korean War. After the war, he attended the University of Oregon where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. In 1960 Mr. Somers went to work for the county of Los Angeles tax assessor’s office as an appraiser where he retired in 1990.
His interests included a strong passion for literature, theater and the arts, politics and religion.
Mr. Somers is survived by one brother, Paul Skipwith of Indianapolis, Ind.; nephews, Bill VanNatta and Bob VanNatta of Provo, Randy VanNatta of Orem, Johnny Skipwith of Carlsbad, N.M.; nieces, Rickie (VanNatta) Liddiard of Provo; Betti (Skipwith) Scronce of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Paulette (Skipwith) Culver of Carlsbad, N.M.; many great nephews, nieces, cousins and cherished friends. Mr. Somers was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Emma (Hansen) Somers; brothers, Lee Smith and John Skipwith; sisters, Leah Skipwith and Margie (Skipwith) VanNatta.
A celebration of Mr. Somers life will be announced at a later date.
