Louis Riche
KENILWORTH – Louis G. Riche, age 81, died April 23, 2004 at his home in Kenilworth while surrounded by his family.
Born July 3, 1922 in Sunnyside, to Loui Gregoria and Ethel Locke Riche. Married Nelsene Crandall on June 13, 1942 in Helper. She died May 20, 1980.
Lifelong resident of Carbon County where he worked in various coal mines, and later retired as a blacksmith from Kaiser Coal in Sunnyside. Retired member of UMWA Local 9958. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He will be dearly missed by family and many friends.
Survived by children, Louis N. (Sue) Riche, Kenilworth; Darlene Riche, Price; grandchildren, Louis G., Thomas N., Micalena, Becky, Kip, Tad, Chris; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Greg and Kami. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, LouSene; brothers, Joe and Morgan (Boofo) Riche; sisters, Jennie Robinson, Caroline Kay, Claranell Day and Ada Riche.
Funeral service Tuesday, April 27, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Albert Blanc
PRICE – Albert Blanc, age 81, passed away peacefully April 21, 2004 at his home.
Born Oct. 1, 1922 in Price to Martin Pierre and Yvonne Samboug Blanc.
Member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church where he attended Mass every Sunday. Lifelong resident of Carbon County and owner of Albert Blanc Plumbing. Albert also worked at the Price City Filtration Plant and in 1991 he retired from Price City.
He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his bike and especially enjoying a cup of coffee with his buddies. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with the ones he loved.
Survived by sons, Jaime (Suzy) Blanc, Farmington; Larry (Meghan) Blanc, Price; Mike (Lisa) Blanc, West Jordan; sister, Anice (Robert) J. Robel, Manhatten, Kan.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; three brothers, Martin Jr., August and Marcel Blanc.
Memorial Mass Tuesday, April 27, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Family will be at the church Tuesday one half hour prior to Mass. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
Ana Salzetti
SPRING GLEN – Ana Irene Worley Norton Salzetti, 83, passed away April 23, 2004 in Provo.
She was born Jan. 16, 1921 in Storrs, to Collier and Maude Tidwell Worley. She married Glen L. Norton June 1, 1940. After his death in 1974, she married Guido Salzetti Jan. 7, 1982.
She enjoyed playing cards, travel (especially going on cruises with Guido and their friends), needlework, bowling and flower gardening. Her first love has always been her family.
Irene is survived by husband, Guido, of Spring Glen; children, Glen Ron and Judy Norton, Kent and Connie Norton, Claudia and Don Salzetti, Holli and Mike Cox, Gaylene and Geno Ori and Mary and Mike Porter; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers, Lee and Diane Worley, Mac Worley; sister, Molly Harrison; and many dear friends and family by whom she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by brother, Fred; and sister-in-law, Enid Worley.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 27, 11 a.m., in the old Wellington LDS Chapel where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Wellington Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the College of Eastern Utah Scholarship Fund, 451 E. 400 North, Price, Utah 84501, Attn Development Office.
Aleta White
CLEVELAND – Aleta Atwood White, age 54, passed away April 21, 2004 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 6, 1950 in Salt Lake City, to Melvin Edward Atwood and Vesta Nielsen. Married Clyde Delynn White Oct. 2, 1971 in Salt Lake City; he died April 23, 2003.
Aleta was very creative and she loved working with her hands. She loved camping, fishing and scrapbooking. Her greatest enjoyment in life was her family.
Survived by children, Melinda Atwood, Dustin Redmond, Dayna Stoddard, Cameron Defa, Natasha White, Whitney White; brothers and sisters, LaNette Ularich, Daniel Atwood, Jean Knuckles, Melva Mayti, Nathan Atwood, Ross Atwood, Amber Osterloh; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, Kevin Atwood.
Graveside service was Saturday, April 24, 2 p.m., Huntington City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
Marguerite Codington
PRICE – Marguerite Estelle Petry Codington passed away December 18, 2003 at the age of 94 years.
Born in San Francisco, Calif. on Jan. 6, 1909 to Gustav Petry and Bernice Hart Gill Petry. Marguerite was married to H. Perry Codington in Oakland, Calif. on July 31, 1927.
Marguerite and Perry were transferred by the Chevron Company to many cities in California: Livermore, Los Banos, Stockton, Sacramento, as well as Price, until retiring to Chico, Calif. where they resided for 32 years until Perry passed away in 1983.
Marguerite was interested in various activities including Eastern Star; Rotary, Lions, BPOE, Masons, Ben Ali Shrine, Chambers of Commerce and both the Stockton Country Club and Utah Country Club. After Perry passed away, Marguerite lived with her daughter Perry in Roseburg, Ore, and Sepulveda, Calif. She lived in the Aegis Assisted Living Center in Pleasant Hill, Calif. from 1998 until her death on December 18, 2003.
Marguerite was accomplished in many areas. She loved to garden and play golf, where she won many trophies. She wrote parodies of Broadway songs and plays, she traveled with Perry, including a month in the Orient in the 1960s and a month on a steamer. She visited Machu Pichu and all west coast parts of South and Central America. They travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
Throughout their 50 plus years together they delighted in dancing. “They put Ginger and Fred to shame”. Marguerite was a witty and generous mother, grandmother and friend. She was a pure delight and we will all miss her greatly.
They had one daughter, Perry Diane Codington Norman who resides in Lincoln, Calif. Besides her daughter, Marguerite leaves five grandchildren, Leslie A. Meyers and husband Steven Meyers and children Lauren, Stephanie and Eric of Martinez, Calif.; W. Perry Allen, DVM and wife Patricia Ashley-Allen, DVM of Eugene, Ore. and daughter Joline Allen of Oklahoma City, Okla.; David L. Allen and wife Tina Dean Allen and sons Andrew and Matthew; Beth L. Ybarra and husband David Ybarra and sons Justin and Jher; and Liane C. Lee and husband Andrew C. Lee and son Mitchell.
Memorial services will be held in Chico, Calif. at the Glen Oaks Memorial Park on April 25. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Marguerite’s name to the San Francisco Shriners Children’s Hospital, the Heart Association or the Cancer Society.
