Carbon’s Hunter King tries to overtake a Wasatch defensive player and break for the goal. King was one of five Dinos to score in the 9-2 win.

The Dinos brought out the heavy artillery to defend the home fort last week in dual soccer games at the Carbon High field.
Carbon left the weekend with a North Sanpete tie and a decisive win over Wasatch Academy.
In the April 14 region game against North Sanpete, Todd Palmer and Taylor Dastrup countered Hawk scoring with a goal a piece.
Tied 2-2 in the final minutes of regulation, Carbon goalie Jacob Denison blocked a penalty kick to preserve the tie and send the game into extra minutes.
Neither team was able to score again and the game remained tied after two overtimes.
According to head coach Timothy Palmer, the tie secures the team at least the same record as last season.
The Dinos followed the tie with an easy victory against the Wasatch Academy Tigers.
Carbon’s leading scorer Palmer added four goals to his season tally in the game, while Kristian Aanestad scored twice. Other scorers in the 9-2 slamming included Brad Baggs, Hunter King and Tim Lasslo.
“The team has continued to improve week by week,” head coach Timothy Palmer commented. “We are looking to finish really strong.”
The Dinos will host Delta and Millard this week to close the season.
