Carbon track competes at Richfield qualifyer\
Brittany Pollastro was added to the list of Carbon track athletes with qualifying marks for the state tournament. Pollastro, who is also playing softball, joined the team after a Lady Dino game against Canyon View.
Her 36’1 1/2″ shot put throw was enough for first place in the meet and a slot in the state tournament.
Pollastro also placed third in the discus with a state-qualifying throw and finished fourth in the javelin.
Maquette Potts placed first in the girls high jump, while Melanie Madsen finished third in the 3200 meter and fifth in the 1600 meter.
Dustin Hurst lead the boys side with a first place shot put throw, beating the qualifying mark by 1/4″. He also placed eighth in the discus.
Bryan Stewart beat the 110 meter hurdle state qualifying time with his second place finish. He also placed third in the 300 meter hurdles.
Josh Goodwin finished fourth in the boys javelin and Paul Goodrich placed seventh in the 3200 meter run.
Emery will host the Dinos April 28 in the final qualifying meet of the season.
The region tournament will take place at North Sanpete on May 5 and 6.
Club Dyno goes undefeated, takes tournament
The Club Dyno volleyball team went undefeated in pool play and in the gold bracket to win an April 17 eighth grade tournament at North Sanpete High School.
Nine teams participated in the tournament.
Members of the championship team included Nicki Woodbury, Cherelle Julian, Whitney Oliver, Julia Potts, Erika Potts, Whitney Williams and Paige Pinedo.
The team is coached by Carolyn Woodbury.
