Ray Guymon
HUNTINGTON – Ray William (Bill) Guymon, 84, passed away April 14, 2004.
He was born Jan. 27, 1920 to Franklin Marion Guymon and Mable Behunin. He married his sweetheart, LaVon Rawson March 10, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and after her passing in 1999 his life was never the same.
His home has been in Huntington most of his life. Because of his dear love for his children and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren he still found joy in living. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep love for the Savior. He and his wife served in the Manti LDS Temple for a time.
He was a true farmer and loved raising crops and cattle, but most of all he enjoyed raising, training, riding, trading and selling horses. To support his farming he worked as a carpenter and in the coal mines. After graduating from Carbon College where he studied carpentry, he became a very skilled craftsman and enjoyed working with beautiful pieces of wood and leather. His life was filled with hard work and up until moments before his death he was still planning and designing projects to work on.
Bill is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two sisters. His children are LaRae and Darrel Leamaster, Huntington; Dana and Dorr Hanson, Spring Glen; JoAnn and Scott Mildenhall, Brigham City; and Ross and Nancy Guymon, Smithfield. His sisters are Marion Christensen, Springville; and Dora Larsen, Huntington. Preceded in death by wife; parents; brothers, Morris and Lynn; sisters, Luella Tippets and Beth Christensen; and infant brother and sister. Also preceded in death by grandchildren, David Leamaster; and great-grandchild, Jade Sharp. Because of his great love for all of his family we know that he is very happy now.
Funeral services were Monday, April 19, at the Huntington LDS Stake Center. Burial, Huntington Cemetery.
Marjorie Brady
SUNNYSIDE – Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Marjorie Brady, 80, of Sunnyside, passed away April 19, 2004 in Price.
She was born Oct. 30, 1923 in Huntington to Soren and Margaret Mathie Anderson. She married Robert (Bob) Brady May 24, 1947 in Huntington. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on May 24, 1958.
Marge loved traveling with the Good Sams Club, sewing and playing cards. She served in the U.S. Navy and was the Republican delegate for Sunnyside. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served for 18 years as primary president and she also served as relief society president.
Marjorie is survived by husband, Bob of Sunnyside; children, Gale Brady (Kay Salazar) of Lakewood, Colo.; Karen (Scott) O’Brien of South Jordan; Pam (Robert) Martinez of Price; Rick (Marta) Brady of Tenino, Wash.; grandchildren, Heather, Staley, Richelle, Darek, Brady, Cori, Michael, Candy and Jenny. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and sister, Lola Sitterud of Orangeville. Preceded in death by parents, four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 22, 11 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Church. Friends may call for a visitation Wednesday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and also one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Price City Cemetery.
Gary Smith
PRICE – Gary D. Smith, 44, resident of Price, passed away at his home April 16, 2004
He was born April 4, 1960 in Dragerton, to Forrest Grant Jr. and BenaLee Black Smith. He married Sonia Villar and later divorced.
Gary worked in the coal mines for several years in Price River, Soldier Creek, Beaver Creek and Deseret mines. He received his associates degree from the College of Eastern Utah. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and spending time with his family, especially his kids. He also enjoyed poetry, music, and he loved to “share conversation.” He loved his Heavenly Father and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gary is survived by grandparents, Sarah Jane Smith and Forrest Grant Smith Sr.; children, Heidi Shanelle (Jason) Henrie of Price; Crystal Noelle Smith of Springville; Gary Frank Smith of Springville; and mother, BenaLee Smith of Price. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first grandchild in October. Also surviving are brothers, James William Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; Earl Grant Smith of Salt Lake; and sisters, Lorri (Norman) Browning of Price; and Jamie Naylor of Clearfield. His father and sisters, Tammy and “Baby” Lorri Smith preceded Gary in death.
Friends may call for a visitation during business hours from 9 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21 at the Fausett Mortuary in Price. A viewing will also be held Thursday, April 22, at the Price 7th/8th LDS Ward Chapel, 995 E. 700 North from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the chapel at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at the Price City Cemetery.
Louise Jones
EAST CARBON – Louise Collard Jones, age 85, passed away April 19, 2004 at Parkdale Care Center.
Louise was born Nov. 20, 1918 in Dallas, Ore. to Roger and Nancy Collard. She married Warren L. Jones Jan. 7, 1967 in Vancouver, Wash. He died Dec. 9, 1993.
Louise loved living on the coast and in 1980 she moved from Portland, Ore. to East Carbon. She enjoyed reading, watching her soaps and western movies.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at Parkdale Care Center.
Survived by son, John D. Schick, East Carbon; and beloved brother, Loren Collard.
Funeral service Thursday, April 22, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Adeline Sarrcino
CASTLEGATE – Our loving mother, grandmother Adeline Lange Pessetto Sarrcino, age 96 passed away April 15, 2004 in Bountiful.
She was born February 12, 1908 in Castlegate to Enrichetta and August Lange. She married Peter Paul Pessetto in 1931. He passed away in 1936. She later married Tom Sarrcino on May 1, 1953. He passed away on May 1, 1995 after 43 years together.
She graduated from Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1929. She worked as a RN in Price and later in East Carbon, until her retirement.
Survived by daughter, Rita and David Judd of Bountiful; grandson, Paul and Jan Judd of Bountiful; granddaughter, Julie and Bob Gibson of Folsom, Calif.; great-grandchildren, David and Danny Judd, Nicole, Steven and Jennifer Gibson.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Inn on Barton Creek for their loving care for the years she lived there and to Vista Care and the nurses at Lakeview Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday April 17, 11 a.m., at Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 East. Interment Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
