Nancy Wilson
PRICE – Our wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Nov. 11, 2004 after a short battle with cancer.
She was born April 5, 1938 to Randolph and May Ruth Butts in Eagle Creek, Ore. She married Earl Lewis Wilson in Carson City, Nev. on Jan. 8, 1962.
She resided in California and Oregon, where they ran a number of restaurant type businesses. They moved to the Price area in 1979, where they operated the Metro Service Station for a number of years. They resided in Wellington until 1991 when she moved to Price.
She was one who had her hobbies, one being Wendover and another collecting plates for places where she had traveled. She liked quilting, embroidering and the outdoors.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by husband; two sons, Harry (Carrie) Wilson and Charley (Kris) Wilson; five very special grandchildren, Colt Wilson, Preston Dees, Alexus Wilson, Zachory Wilson and Wyatt Wilson; brothers, Keith Butts, Norman Butts and David Butts; half brothers and sisters, Mary Moyer, Jeanie Gonzales, Don Adams, Georgia Jennings, Johnny Adams, Steven Butts, Gloria Brooks, Issac Butts, Audrey Ribble and JR Butts; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Cora Wright and Sue Critchlow. She is preceded in death by parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and a number of friends and family members.
The family will be at Mitchell’s Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 10:40 a.m. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Wellington City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been sent up at Far West Bank.
John Smith Jr.
PRICE – John Franklin Smith Jr., passed away Nov. 11, 2004 of natural causes inherent to age.
He was born March 8, 1920 in Meyersdale, Pa., to John F. and Clara Steinly Smith. On July 29, 1944 he married his sweetheart Myrtle Irene Shaffer. They lived in Jerome, Pa., where John worked as a machinist and preparation plant foreman.
In 1957 they moved to Hiawatha, where John worked as preparation plant supervisor and general mine superintendent for U.S. Fuel Company. He retired in 1982 and built a home in Carbonville where he lived until his death. John served in the U.S. Army during World Ward II.
Throughout his life, John and Myrtle enjoyed traveling throughout the country, visiting relatives and seeing sites along the way. They loved square dancing, playing cards, and spending time with grandchildren.
John was fascinated by anything mechanical, enjoyed working with his hands, was a fine woodworker, and a skilled mechanic who actively participated in car repairs for his family.
Member of the Price United Methodist Church. Member Joppa Lodge 26 F&AM for over 44 years, where he was also a member of the Price Chapter 6, Royal Arch Masons, Solomon Council 4, Cryptic Masons, Charles Fred Jennings Commandary 6, York Rite Freemasonry and a Shriner. John was very proud and supportive of his grandsons who served missions for the LDS Church.
Survived by wife, Myrtle; sons, John F. (Ina) Smith III; Samuel J. (Sharron) Smith; daughter, Janet I. (Grant) Smith Laws; sister, Ruth Smith Lehman; brother, Donald Merle Smith; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him greatly. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Robert Dale Smith; and sister, Ethel Marie Smith Martin.
Funeral service Monday, Nov. 15, 11 a.m., Price United Methodist Church. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Luke Davies
PRICE – Luke Anthony Davies was born and died, Nov. 9, 2004, 15 weeks premature.
How very softly you tiptoed into our world. Almost silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footsteps have left upon our hearts.
Survived by parents, Steven and Sinda Davies; grandparents, Richard and Sheri Davies, Randy and April Muncy; several great-grandparents; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Services were provided by Fausett Mortuary on Nov. 13. Burial, Price City Cemetery. A memorial fund is established at Fausett Mortuary.
