Members of the E Clampus Vitus Helper branch dedicate a historic plaque in Kenilworth. Members of the Helper organization placed the plaque to signify the rich history of the former mining town. During a presentation July 12, members discussed the importance of remembering the past and preserving the future. Kenilworth was once a booming coal camp and was considered one of the largest camps in the state. Today, few homes remain, but the memories of the past are strong. The plaque sits where the town’s auditorium once stood and served as a gathering place last weekend for Clampers from Utah and Colorado.
