A Castlegate Posse member fires at targets during a cowboy shooting event. Members of the shooting club participate in regular events and dress like old west cowboys and cowgirls as part of the festivities.

Members of the Castlegate Posse gather regularly to remember the traditions of the old West.
The shooting club dresses up like old time cowboys and cowgirls and take on unique outlaw names such as Pinnacle Pete and Cowboy Murder’n Maude. They then gather and participate in several shooting events.
Recently, the outlaws competed in a shooting event and the winners are as follows.
Doc Nelson captured first place while Cinch took second place honors and Coyote Chaser placed third.
Utah Rifleman placed fourth while Fargo Kid finished in fifth place with Dustmaker in sixth place and Unforgiven finished in seventh place.
Remembering the past and paving the way for the future, the Castlegate Posse plans to keep kicking up dust throughout Carbon County.
