The Carbon Dinos have been waiting for the chance to move up the Region 8 standings ladder. Tuesday night, the team did just that by handing North Sanpete their first loss of the regular season.

The Carbon High Lady Dinos have made a name for themselves in recent years when it comes to volleyball. This year, the team is by no means struggling however, they find themselves sitting in third place in the Region 8 standings. For years, it seems as if Carbon has ruled the number one seed.
Determined and strong, the Dinos put their best effort forward last Tuesday night as they hosted the region’s number one ranked team, North Sanpete. This effort paid off as Carbon defeated the Hawks, 3-1.
In the first set, the Hawks defeated the Lady Dinos, 25-19. Carbon was determined to make sure this was the last set that the visiting team would win.
Carbon’s Morgan Warburton stepped up strong and scored 11 kills and 22 service points for a total of 33 points.
The Dinos handed North Sanpete a 25-19, 25-23 and 25-20 loss to claim the region victory.
Carbon will now prepare for the state tourney which will get underway Oct. 31 in Orem.
Even though the team will enter the tourney unranked in the Class 3A standings, the Dinos are not worried. The volleyball squad is loaded with talented athletes who can easily lead the Dinos to a state championship.
