Emergency crews and ambulence personnel assist at the scene of a two-vehicle traffic accident last Saturday evening on U.S. Highway 6.
According to the law enforcement incident report, 35-year-old Juan Legarda purportedly lost control of the 1983 Dodge he was driving when the motorist attempted to exit U.S. 6 onto the Spring Glen road.
Legarda’ Dodge then reportedly broadsided a Ford truck drived by Price resident Charles Weber.
The force of the impact rolled the Ford pickup truck onto its side.
Following the collision, Legarda allegedly left the scene of the Nov. 8 mishap in the Dodge the man was driving when the collision occurred.
However, the subject’s automobile broke down a short distance from the accident scene and Legarda reportedly continued to flee the area on foot.
Legarda was found in a Spring Glen field soon after, noted the incident report. The subject was later into the Carbon County Jail on a driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUI) charge.
The 43-year-old Weber was transported to the Castleview Hospital and treated for minor injuries incurred in the mishap.
