EMERY – Bud Ernest Prettyman, age 79, passed away Nov. 19, 2003 in Emery surrounded by his family.
He was born March 31, 1924 in Gordon Creek to Ernest John and Rose Hazel Romjue Prettyman. He married Betty Lena Hansen April 19, 1946 in Price, later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
His love of horses, music, dancing and hunting was exceeded only by his love for his family and his faith.
Bud retired from the Utah Department of Transportation after 20 years. The couple served two missions for the LDS Church in Gila, N.M.
Bud is survived by his wife, Betty of Emery; children, Stella and Gail Johnson of Colorado; John and Gloria Prettyman of California; Ernest and Doris Prettyman of Carbonville; David and Kristy Prettyman of Wellington; Jody Mortensen of Emery; James and Charla Prettyman of Emery; 29 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Pearl Wells. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Emery LDS Chapel. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in Emery. Burial will be in the Wellington Cemetery.
