Ray Ferguson
EAST CARBON – George LeRay “Fergie” Ferguson, age 50, passed away peacefully Aug. 5, 2003 in Provo after a heroic battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 25, 1952 in Dragerton to George and Beth Harvey Ferguson. He married Elizabeth “Liz” Rodriguez Nov. 25, 1973 in East Carbon, where they resided since that time.
Ray was devoted to his family. He loved spending time with his two sons and grandsons. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and horseback riding. He had a love for the outdoors and sports, where he excelled.
Ray loved people, helping out whenever he was needed. He worked for Kaiser Steel and then moved on to become longwall coordinator at Pacifi-Corp, where he had the respect of his fellow workers.
He is survived by loving wife, Liz of East Carbon; sons, Ryan Ferguson of Sunnyside; Levi Ferguson of California; two precious grandsons, Patrick Hunter and Ryelan Cael Fer-guson; his mother, Beth of Sunnyside; brothers, Harvey K. and Lorraine Ferguson of Wyoming; Randall S. and Alice Ferguson of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father. He had many friends and one special friend, Mark McDonald.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Cliffview Cemetery in Price.
Wauneta Schade
PRICE – Wauneta Ruth Wilson Schade, age 82, passed away Aug. 6, 2003 at her home in Price.
She was born Oct. 14, 1920 in Peetz, Colo., to Frank and Cecil Adams Wilson. Married George Rodney Schade Sept. 14,1937 in Spring Glen. He died March 10, 1988.
Wauneta enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting for her family and working on various craft projects. She loved her games, playing poker, and she especially looked forward to the family reunions and Easter.
She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by nine sons and four daughters, George (Alta) Schade, Price; Jim (Raquel) Schade, Edell Salina; Garold (Darla) Schade, Elmo; Jerald (Arline) Schade, Wellington; Ralph Edell Schade, Price; Jean (James) Adams, Boise, Idaho; Sandra (Brent) Jewkes, Ferron; Will (Margie) Schade, Granby, Colo., Lynda Schade, Ferron; Tom (Dorthy) Schade, Huntington; Carl (Judi) Schade, Price; Brent Schade, Price; Dorothy Schade, Salt Lake City; 51 grandchildren and 106 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; daughters, Ruth Twitchell and Becky Schade; son, Charles “Dick” Schade; grandson, Gary Schade; brother, Robert Wilson; sisters, Patricia Albrechtsen and Nora Ebough.
Graveside service, Friday, Aug. 8, 10 a.m, Price City Cemetery. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service.
Gene A. Mossman
PRICE/MONTEREY PARK, Calif. – Gene Albert Mossman, age 72, passed away July 24, 2003 at his home in Monterey Park, Calif. after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Questa, N.M., to Bertha Cisneros Mossman and Jake Mossman. His father passed away Aug. 12, 1935. After his mother remarried, he relocated to Price in 1945 and attended Carbon County schools.
Gene served in the United States Marine Corps and, in 1951, was involved with nuclear testing in Nevada. He transferred to Okinawa, Japan, during the Korean War. After returning from serving his country, he was united in marriage to Sally Ruiz.
He was earned his BA and was employed as a civil engineer at North American Aerospace and retired from Rockwell International in 1991.
Gene is survived by his wife, Sally, Monterey Park, Calif.; brother, Jake (Vera) Mossman, Taos, N.M.; five sisters, Marcia (Don) Fitzner, Williard, N.M.; Caroline Torres, Moriarity, N.M.; Julie (Joe) Vasquez, Wichita, Kan.; Louise (Ken) Babcock, Wichita, Kan,; Rose (Roger) Moss, Wichita, Kan.; Mae (Joseph Jr.) Aguayo, Price; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Gene’s wishes were to be buried by his mother’s side. A private service and interment will be conducted Aug. 8 at the Price City Cemetery .
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and wit. He will be missed dearly and in our hearts forever.
