Northern Heights falls short of little league title

After capturing the local Western Boys Baseball Association major league all star title, the Northern Heights team traveled to Roosevelt to participate in the annual little world series last week.
Northern Heights was eliminated from the tournament after losing to Westside, a team from Idaho Falls by the final 6-2.
The local team finished the annual event with a 1-4 record. The first loss of the tournament for Northern Heights came August 5 as they kicked off the world series event against Highland. The Carbon County team fell 15-3.
The following afternoon, Northern Heights bounced back to win their only game of the tournament by defeating Hacienda Heights from California by the final, 10-5.
Northern Heights played Morgan in the final game of the three team opening bracket of the tourney. After suffering a 14-5 loss to Morgan, Northern Heights moved on to compete in a consolation bracket. This was the game against Westside that sent the Carbon team home without a title.
By the end of the week long event, Highland captured the title by defeating Orem 12-8.
Next year’s little world series event will take place in Rigby, Idaho during the first week of August.
