Kids fishing day to take place in Helper. The Division of Wildlife Resources will sponsor its annual kids fishing event on May 10 at the Gigliotti Pond in Helper.
During the event, kids may fish using rods, reels and bait provided by the wildlife division. Anglers are encouraged to bring their own supplies however, the division will provide material for those without.
Children 14 years and older need to have a valid fishing license in order to participate in the event.
American Legion baseball tryouts to be conducted. The annual Helper American Legion baseball season is just around the bend and tryouts for the team will be conducted soon.
Helper team coach, Jeff Cisneros invites all interested youth to tryout for the team which will consist of 22 players.
The summer baseball season kicks off in June and runs through the beginning of August.
