John Prazen


MESQUITE, Nev. – John Fred Prazen, age 63, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., following a valiant struggle with various health problems.
He was born Aug. 26, 1939 in Price to Frank and Lucille Ungricht Prazen. He married his soul mate, eternal partner and best friend, Carol Ellen Foote Nov. 23, 1957 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
John was raised in Price and graduated from Carbon High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962. While in the Navy he served aboard the USS Sperry. Following his honorable military service, John worked at the family business, Pioneer Welding and Repair in Price and Salt Lake For many years, ultimately serving as president of the company.
John was a natural born artist, with a renowned talent for creating magnificent sculptures. He enjoyed painting and deep sea fishing, and he was a very good cook. John and Carol moved to Mesquite in 1995. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings.
John touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was a very generous and caring man. He was dearly loved and adored by his family and will be missed immensely. In his own words: “when you see a beautiful place, thing of me… I’m never far away.”
He is survived by wife, Carol, Mesquite, Nev.; children, Shannon K. Prazen of Mesquite, Nev.; Jon Marlon (Tarri) Prazen, Homer, Alas.; S. Machele (Kenneth) Sandoval, Mark D. (Laurn) Prazen, Adrian A. (Rachele) Prazen, all of Mesquite, Nev.; Margaret Gilgen of Fairview; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Janet) Prazen of Price; Richard (Ann) Prazen of Salt Lake City; sister, Shirley (Jerrry) Hastings, Rexburg, Idaho; along with numerous extended family members and friends. John was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Lucille Prazen; and loving son, Randy Lee Prazen.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 8, 1 p.m. (Nevada time), at the Mesquite LDS Stake Center on Arrowhead Lane. Visitation will be at the stake center, Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment with military honors at the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road in Salt Lake City at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9, under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, Mesquite. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Veteran’s Administration.


Sara Trejo


PRICE – Sahara “Sara” Trejo, age 75, died May 5, 2003 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
Born Feb. 2, 1928 in Hejido Hernandez Chihuahua, Mexico to Leonardo and Marfila Trevizo Trejo. Married Guadalupe Molinar in 1948 in Hejido Hernandez Chihuahua, Mexico. He later died.
Sara was a member of the Spanish Assembly of God Church where she had a deep love for her God, church, and she especially loved praying and singing for her church. Sara lived a very simple life and the most important thing was her family and friends. She loved to visit her home country of Mexico and will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by children, Guadalupe (Marcella) Molinar, Helper; Oscar (Ruby) Molinar, Price; Elva Molinar, Price; Sijifredo Molinar, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; Jerardo Molinar, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; Ruby (Gilbert) Sanchez, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; five brothers and four sisters, Lorenzo (Romana) Trejo, Nuevo Casas Grandes Chihuahua, Mexico; Baltazar (Leonila) Trego, Orem; Reidesel (Charlotte) Trejo, Lewistown, Mont.; Maria (Fernando) Revera, El Paso, Texas; Antonia (Arturo) Miramontes, Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Romelia Molinar; granddaughter, Nancy Molinar; five sisters, Carmen Trejo, Manuela Trejo, Cruz Trejo, Maruca Trejo, Aurora Trejo; three brothers, Isidro Trejo, Jose Trejo, and Heriberto Trejo.
Funeral service Saturday, May 10, 10 a.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Evening services Friday, 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Friday and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.


Mary Lange


HELPER – Mary Pessetto Lange, age 92, passed away May 6, 2003 in her home.
Born Dec. 26, 1910 in Heiner, to Paul and Barbara Carrera Pessetto. Married Leonard Lange Oct. 15, 1940 in Castle Dale. He died Aug. 31, 1983.
Mary was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and life long resident of Carbon County. Member of Stella D’America Lodge 77, where Mary was one of two original charter members of Sorella D’America Lodge which was organized in 1934.
She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many long time friends and dear neighbors. Preceded in death by parents; three brothers, Michael John and Pete Pessetto; and two sisters, Mary Pessetto and Minnie Carimati.
Funeral service Saturday, May 10, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
