Local bullriders encouraged to compete in annual bullriders only event. The annual bullriders only event is scheduled to take place May 31 at 7 p.m. at the the Carbon County Fairgrounds arena. This year, promoters are encouraging any interested bullrider to enter the event. Those interested may receive detailed information and sign up forms by calling 637-8176.
Desert Thunder winners announced. Last weekend’s Desert Thunder raceway winners have been announced and include the following winners.
In the mini event, Bill Rowley finished in first place and took home the trophy. James Rowley followed in second place and Kevin Gurr in third.
In the pure event, Gary Olener placed first followed by David Breaux in second and Jake Johnson in third place. Paul Perez finished with the trophy.
The street event found Mickey Stubbings in first place with the trophy, Jim Jennings in second place and Brett Alderson in third.
Hubert Wilson finished in first place with the trophy in the late event and Lou Vanderherp finished in second place.
In the ATV event, Dallas Leo placed first with the trophy with Derek Mabbutt in second place and Fidge Wright in third place.
In the sprint event, Tim Savage finished in first place with the trophy and Jack Elwell followed in second place while Jared Elwell finished in third place.
Memorial Day travelers reminded to preserve wildlife habitats. Camping, hiking fishing and many other outdoor activities are common occurances during the Memorial Day weekend. That is why it is extremely important that all outdoor visitors obey current Utah laws and enjoy the state’s great outdoors by leaving the area the way they find it.
