Christine Bedont, from Mont Harmon Junior High, discusses her project with an interested party attending the recent science fair. Bedont and five Carbon County School District students attended the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in May at Cleveland, Ohio. Local participants at the international event included Nick Deeter from Helper Junior High, Bradley Bunnell from Carbon High, Christopher Henrie from Mont Harmon and Kimberly Bunnell from Mont Harmon. The competition is the largest international science fair event in the world, with students from more than 40 countries attending. To qualify, the Carbon County students had to not only win at the local competition and the regional science fair at Southern Utah University, but had to be selected by a committee at SUU to compete at the international event.
