International Days 5k run attracts many running enthusiasts

The competition at the 5k run was neck to neck as runners rush for the finish line. The event began near 100 North and followed a route which took participants throughout Price. The run was part of the annual International Days activities.

As part of the International Days festivities, a 5k run was held which allowed local athletes to compete in their own hometown which made for a memorable experience for all who were involved.
The event was held last Saturday and was deemed a success. Participants ranged in age and experience which made the event exciting to watch.
Athletes lined the streets of Price as they ran through local neighborhoods, searching for the finish line. By the time that all the runners had reached this mark, smiles adorned the faces of those who had participated in the event.
Endurance is a large factor in any running event, however it is extremely important in an event which covers as much area as a 5k run.
Several athletes from the Carbon High track team competed in the event while others who simply run for a pastime also competed. The diversity of the athletes truly reflect the meaning of the International Days celebration.
The official results of the race have not yet been released, however when these statistics become available, an update will be ran giving credit to those local athletes who endured the long, yet exciting race. Runners look forward to competing again next year in the event which is sure to become a tradition in Carbon County.
