With spring’s arrival on Wednesday, the daylight hours are officially starting to last longer and longer. Soon, the green will begin to appear in the grass and the trees will begin to bud. However, the year may prove to be an extremely short one for water if the current situation does not change rapidly. The watershed in the mountains surrounding Castle Valley only has around the 60th percentile of the snow needed for a normal year and Carbon County has been in drought for three years so supplies are low. A green summer could turn into a yellow one without additional moisture.
