Virginia Nichols


SPRING GLEN – Our loving mother and grandmother of five generations, Virginia Johnson Nichols, age 88, died June 19, 2002 in Price.
She was born March 20, 1914 in Orangeville to Joseph Arthur and Eliza Nora Sampson John-son. Married Harry R. Nichols Feb. 1, 1930 in Price. He died Sept. 14, 1984.
Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Virginia was a lifelong resident of Carbon and Emery counties and a reside
Mom loved cooking and caring for her family and will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by four sons, one daughter and their spouses, Mel-Corky (Sandy) Nichols, Price; Robert (Betty) Nichols, Orem; Bill (Sandy) Nichols, Carbonville; Fred Nichols, Price; Connie (Paul) Cutler, Stanton, Calif.; brothers, Lyle (Pat) John-son, Pocatello, Idaho; Wayne (Francis) Johnson, Evanston, Wyo.; 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-granddaughters. Preceded in death by one son, Gary Nichols; grandson, Larry Alan Nichols; daughters-in-law, Beulah, Bonnie and Garaldine Nichols; five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m., Spring Glen LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday evening, 7 to 8 p.m., and at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Hel-per.


Mario Arlotti


HELPER/SAN GABRIEL, Calif. – Mario U. Arlotti, 88, died June 13, 2002 at the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center.
He was born June 17, 1913 in Savuto, Italy, to Peter and Giovanna Zimbaro Arlotti. Mario married Minnie Romano Sept. 20, 1952 in Helper and they lived in San Gabriel, Calif., since then.
Mario came to the United States when he was 7. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for three and one-half years during World War II. Life member of Price Elks Lodge 1550, where he received his 60 year pin.
Two of his favorite pastimes were gardening and working in his wood shop, making beautiful pieces of furniture for his family and friends and articles for his church fiesta.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie; two sons, Frank, Tucson, Ariz.; Philip, Hesperia, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; a sister, Rose; brothers, John, Dominic and Joseph; and niece, Mary.
Graveside service Friday, June 21, 11 a.m., Mountain View Cemetery, Helper. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening, 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services.
