The Spring fund raiser at the Price Senior Citizen’s Center was a huge success and according to the June newsletter they brought in $740 after expenses. Ray Sandoval brought in over $200 in donations himself.
Others who assisted with the event included Wilma Bottino, Tammy Vea, Chris Saccomano, Paula Blackburn, Azella Bradley and Vena Tryon. The money raised will benefit their nutrition program and those using the services.
Activities at the Senior Center coming in June include their picnic this Sunday, June 7 at Price Park, followed by a dance at 8 p.m.
The group will be traveling to Hale Theatre in Orem on the June 8.
The Father’s Day dinner is set for June 14 and another dance is set for June 21, once again at 8 p.m.
The monthly birthday dinner is set for June 26 while the outing to the Bar-M Chuckwagon in Moab is set for June 28.
People are reminded that if they are not getting their newsletter to call the center and get their name on the mailing list.
The June issue of the newsletter dealt extensively with sun allergies and gives a number tips on staying safe in the sun. Many people are sensitive to the sun and there are ways to prevent long term health effects from too much sun.
The Senior Center is cleaning house in the ceramic department. According to the newsletter the shelves are overstocked with many unclaimed items. They are asking everyone with special orders to come in and claim the items. If they haven’t done so in the next 60 days they will find their item sold.
The Carbon County auction was held June 1 at the fairgrounds.
