Clyde Larsen


ELMO – Clyde Lewis Larsen, age 93, passed away Dec. 10, 2002 at Turnquist Retreat.
He was born Dec. 14, 1908 in Indianola to Lewis and Lozetta Spencer Larsen. Married Edith Pearl Baker Nov. 13, 1931 in Roosevelt. Marriage later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. She died Sept. 13, 1995.
Member of the LDS Church. Retired member of the UMWA Kaiser Steel Local 9958.
Clyde was a farmer and was deeply involved in all of his family’s different interests. He was a great inspiration to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by four sons and one daughter, Melvin Larsen, Price; Phil (Shanna) Larsen, Salem; LaMont (Kriss) Larsen, Wellington; Jimmie (Gaylene) Larsen, Lakeshore; Beverly Larsen, Provo; sisters, Arsula Bird, Bluebell; Lucille (Max) Curtis, Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Clinton, Jaylene, Janell, Amie, Evelyn, Lynette, Glenn, Jennifer, Lyle, Alayna, Preston; and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Rhea Larsen; and daughter-in-law, Penny Larsen.
Funeral service Saturday, Dec. 14, noon, at the Elmo LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Caleen and staff at Turnquist; special friend, Brandon; and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their loving care.


Smiley Amano


SALT LAKE CITY – Smiley Amano, age 80, passed away Dec. 9, 2002 in Logan following a long illness.
She was born in Murray in 1922 and graduated from Murray High School.
She married Yosh Amano and was a beautician and prominent citizen of Helper for over 50 years.
She is survived by two sons, Young Amano of La Crescenta, Calif., and Gary Amano of Logan; a sister, Mary Kawakami of American Fork; two stepbrothers, Utao and Sam Waki; and four stepsisters, Yomiko Kotoku, Wilma Kimura, Betty Mayeda and Kemie Oda.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 South, Salt Lake City, under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.

Alden Burdick


OREM – Alden Lutellus Burdick, 85 of Orem, passed away Dec. 10, 2002.
He was born April 4, 1918 in Bonita to Francis Eugene and Millie Feron Cook Burdick. He married Bernell C. Olson Feb. 14, 1942.
Alden is survived by his wife, Bernell; three sons and one daughter, Butch (Michele) Burdick, Dubois, Wyo.; Bruce (Vicki) Burdick, Orem; Ken (Janeen) Burdick, Omaha, Neb.; and Christine Burdick, Santa Cruz, Calif. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E. 800 North, Orem. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in the Price City Cemetery.
