Frederick Stocker
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Fred Stoker, 85 of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away peacefully at home after a long illness.
He was born in Delta, Colo., to George Conrad and Grace Dickey Stocker.
Fred spent his childhood in the Fruitvale area and graduated with the Class of 1935 and Ross Business College.
Fred was employed and retired from the D&RG Western Railway Company. He was a member of the Wasatch Masonic Lodge 1 of Salt Lake City and the Grand Junction Scottish Rite.
His survivors include his wife of 26 years, Lugy D. Stocker; stepchildren and their spouses, Nancy and Erlindo Montoya, Murray; Alice Flores, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Joe and Darlene Trujillo, Las Vegas, Nev.; Abby Martinez, Salt Lake City; Ida and LeRoy Gutierrez, Helper; Gladys and Mike McKendricks, Tooele; Pruda Trujillo, Farmington, N.M.; a son-in-law Gus Swanson (Rosemary), Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Stocker, Grand Junction, Colo.; 26 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Stocker; sister, Louise Rhoades; his first wife, Audrey Brayton; daughter, Marlene Swanson; and stepson, Lou Trujillo.
Per Fred’s request, no services after cremation under the direction of Callahan-Edfrast Mortuary are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliataive Care of Western Colorado, PO Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81506.

Cleonda Hansen
SPRING GLEN – Cleonda Nelson Hansen, age 93, passed away Sept. 6, 2002 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 14, 1909 in Manti to August Earl and Henrietta Laurentzie Lowry Nelson. She married Harold Peter Hansen June 14, 1933 in the Manti LDS Temple.
She was skilled at crocheting and quilting, giving most of what she made to her family and friends, with love in every stitch. She loved being wife and mother and worked hard to provide good things for her family, baking bread, cookies and her special sponge cake.
As an active member of the LDS Church, she served in numerous callings for over 60 years.
Cleonda is survived by her children, Earl and Glenda Hansen, Spring Glen; Judy and Doug Ferguson, Layton; Jim and Karen Hansen, Huntington; daughter-in-law Alene Hansen Merrill, Huntington; 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by stepbrother, Ray Anderson, and stepsisters, Velda Smith and Ruth Haaggerson. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Roger; granddaughter, Sherry Ferguson; grandson, Ralph Lehman; brothers, Bill and Lee; and sisters, Katherine, Jean and Margret.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Spring Glen LDS Chapel, which she helped build. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Helper under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Melvin Jensen
LAWRENCE – Melvin Fernit Jensen, our dad, returned to his Father in Heaven and into the arms of his eternal companion Sept. 4, 2002 due to complications following surgery.
Dad was born April 21, 1915 in Elberta to Lafayette Jensen and Christena Kathyrene Knibb Jensen. He grew up in Lawrence working on the farm. Dad married the love of his life, Margaret Adessa Ramage, on Aug. 19, 1939. Their marriage was sealed in the Manti LDS Temple Sept. 13, 1941. They were blessed with a daughter and three sons.
Our dad was a hard working man, working on the farm and in the coal mines.
He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He strengthened his family by the testimony he had. He held many callings in the gospel.
Dad is survived by daughter, Judy (Paul) Giles; son, Darrol (Margo) Jensen; daughter-in-law, Joan (Tom) Souza; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sons, James and Leon Jensen.
Thanks, dad, for wonderful times and memories. We would like to thank those who helped in caring for our father in any way, especially his granddaughter, KendahlLe, who took care of him.
Funeral services were Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Huntington 5th LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Lawrence City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Stella M. Sandoval
OGDEN-Stella M. Sandoval, 77, left this earth peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sept. 5, 2002.
She was born in Maxwell, N.M., on Oct. 17, 1924, the daughter of Tranquilino Arellano and Annie Cruz. During her lifetime, she resided in Springer, N.M. ; Price and, most recently, in Ogden.
She married Fillie Vincent Sandoval on Feb. 26, 1941 in Springer, N.M. They had eight children, Gloria (Sam) Roy, Springer, N.M.; Edward F. (Marge) Sandoval, Samuel E. Sandoval, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Fredrick J. (Marianna) Sandoval, Cynthia L. Sandoval, both of Belen, N.M.; Santiago C. (Elaine) Sandoval, Ogden; Catherine A. (Rudy Jr.) Ortega and Jack T. (Althea) Sandoval, both of Roy.
Stella was an active and devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She shared her working talents by cooking for several priests in the Salt Lake Diocese. She served as a nurse’s aide at Colfax General Hospital in Springer, N.M., and Carbon County Nursing Home in Price. She was also a cook at the Greenwell Restaurant in Price.
Stella enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spent countless hours caring for her ailing husband. Her salvation was listening to Mexican music and watching her “novelas.”
Mom modeled the behavior of caring for one another as family members, which is the legacy she leaves with each and every one of us.
She is survived by her stepfather, Albert Medina, Price; four sisters, Bennie Sasena, San Diego, Calif. Helen (Victor) Zavala, Dora (Henry) Smith, both of Price; Nora (Max) Aragon, East Carbon; two brothers, Fred (Susie) Arellano, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Phil (Pat), San Diego, Calif. She is also survived by 19 special grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, whom she loved and nurtured. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; and two grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Kathleen Deremer, Dr. Harry Senekjian, the staff at Bonneville Dialysis Center and at Ogden Regional Medical Center, Father Neil Herrlick, Father Rock and Sister Gloria.
Services were Monday, Sept. 9, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church under the direction of Leavitt’s Mortuary. Vigil service was Sunday. Interment, Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park. Send condolences to family at www.leavittsmortuary.com.

Mary Fullmer
ORANGEVILLE – Our beloved Mary Pedersen Call Fullmer passed away in Salt Lake City from complications of pulmonary disease on Sept. 7, 2002.
She was born July 16, 1921 in Riverton to Jens Christian and Laura Belle Webb Pedersen. She was the last of nine children. She was married to Wallace B. Fullmer on March 7, 1942 in Malad, Idaho. They were later sealed together in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She would crochet and make beaded doilies. She was easily found shopping and loved to support shopping on QVC.
Her greatest love in life came from her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she had been active in most all organizations, especially Young Women’s. She also served in the Los Angeles LDS Temple genealogy library.
She is lovingly remembered by her family, including her children, Lauraly (Patrick) Jones, Orangeville; Jerry W. (Lisa) Fullmer, Sandy; Julie Kay (Jim) Jackson, Buffalo, N.Y. Also, one sister, Estella Wiechert of Kays-ville, is still surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call for a visitation at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville LDS Ward Chapel, with a viewing at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Orangeville Cemetery.
