Although the Dino soccer team has struggled throughout the season thus far, the excitement of the game has the team soaring high. Improvements continue to be made as the season progresses and the desire to win continues to grow stronger.

The Carbon High soccer team continues to struggle its way throughout the season. The team has yet to complete a game victorious, however improvements continue to be made.
The Dinos hosted two games this past week, with the first being held last Wednesday as the Delta Rabbits paid a visit to Dino field. According to Dinos head coach Ted Bianco, “Delta is an experienced team. We on the other hand are young. Every small mistake that we made, Delta capitalized on those errors.”
The unexperienced Carbon team struggled to score a goal against the Rabbits, thus ending the game with Delta on top 8-0. “We have a young team that is learning as they go,” explained Bianco.
Friday afternoon, the Dinos showed many improvements and learning was something that the team had definitely done against the Rabbits. The Lehi Hawks visited the Dinos home field to compete in an afternoon of fun and action. As the Dinos battled it out with the Hawks, it was apparent that lessons had indeed been learned by Carbon. Fewer mistakes were made and many improvements were obvious.
“The team played a lot better defense than they did (Wednesday) against Delta. The score alone proved this fact,” explained Bianco.
The Dinos once again fell short of victory, losing to the Hawks 4-0. “The fact that they held Lehi to only four goals was quite an improvement,” stated Bianco.
Friday’s game was the first game played by senior Danny Garvin in recent memory. Garvin has sat out the past few games due to a knee injury. The presence of Garvin added senior leadership on the field for the Dino team. Although coach Bianco is quick to point out that “each player has done an incredible job for us this year, but the leadership of Garvin has been constant throughout the season. It was good to have him back.”
The Dinos will continue to search for a victory April 10 as the team hosts North Sanpete at 3:30 and Wasatch Academy on April 12.
