The season has not been too successful for the Eagles in the win column, but several players have had a great showing so far, including Eric Turnbow. As a hitter, Turnbow brings a lot of strength to bat along with a .273 batting average.

The struggling College of Eastern Utah baseball team travelled to St. George last weekend to face the number one ranked Scenic West Athletic Conference team, the Dixie Rebels. The trip turned out to be unsuccessful for the Eagles who are currently ranked at the bottom of the SWAC standings.
The four game weekend found the Eagles fighting for every run they could possibly get against the Rebels. The Eagles also struggled defensivly to stop the strong Dixie team.
The first day of double header games found the Rebels defeating the Eagles 8-3 and 3-0. The loss would only be a preview of things to come the following day. In fact, the double header games the second day turned out much like the first, with the Rebels defeating the Eagles 6-2 and 5-2.
The four game series of losses dropped the Eagles to 6-22 for the season. With only three weeks left in the regular season, the Eagles hope to step up their game and finish the season strong in order to compete in the region tournament to be held May 8-11.
The Eagles will look to key hitters as the next several games approach. A.J. Stosich, who currently has the top batting average for the Eagles will be a key player in the weeks to come. Stosich, who has a .421 batting average will bring power to the hitting line up for the Eagles.
Jacob Wolfgramm has also been a dominating force for the Eagles this season. Wolfgramm, who has a .339 batting average will step up during the remainder of the season in hopes of firing up the Eagles to a strong season finish.
The next oponent for the Eagles is the second ranked SWAC team, Southern Nevada. The Eagles will take things one game at a time and hopefully this strategy will prove successful for the strugling CEU team. Returning home just might be the missing link the Eagles are searching for in order to chalk up a victory.
